The Slippery Slope
The off-shore sports book I deal with posts odds on things other than sporting events (Academy Awards, elections, trial outcomes, etc) that you can actually bet on. Here are the real odds - if you want to bet and win real money - on who will be the next to die in the Soprano's fifth season:

Uncle Junior 5-2
Furio 2-1
Paulie Walnuts 6-5
Christopher 2-1
Janice 10-1
Adrianna 2-1
Tony 50-1
None of the above 3-1

Uncle Junior. F*uck it, he's a Mustache Pete. It's a new era. He should go next.

I too would go with Uncle Junior, unless next season Furio comes back in the picture and goes after Carm. Then I think he's "toast". He may be anyway if he shows up, cause I don't think Tony would ever trust him again (even tho Furio never really did anything, the "kinship" between them is history.)

I agree completely with TIS, including the "Furio Factor"...Let's face it, Uncle Junior has had his moment in the sun.

Everyone dies, since it takes so long for the seasons to come out. Only Anthony will be alive, and he will be in his 60's.

Hard to tell if they plan on going another season after this one...3-1 on none may be a good bet.. Of course if they are planning a movie after this is over, they may want top keep a few extra people around....

This is why the Mafia is in such bad shape. All the old wise Dons are passing on due to natural or "unnatural causes". This or they are spending the rest of thier lives in Walla Walla. The new generation of mobsters, as many famous gansters have said, are sloppy and have no respect. The thought Omerta is laughable now. People like Uncle Junior , who keep true to the code of silence, are dying or in jail for those very things. There are more "Made men" out there that are trying to get into witness protection then there are men trying to be made. More and more the Italian Mafia is losing streanth and power due to the old Dons dying and the new ones coming in and destroying powerful, old Regimes. These new Mafioso get into trouble real fast and forget about the code when it becomes time to do thier time. This is partially in fault to the introduction of cocaine to the world of the Mafiosi. More and more in recent times "Made men" are doing 40 to life, rather than the usual 10-15 years for most small time illegal crimes which the Mafia stood on back then, back in the "Golden Era". The big stuff was never a problem back then. Murders were never uncovered because of lack of witnesses and evidence. But now adays that all canges with the introduction of "new members". They rat out the "old members". The Mafia is in trouble and if the trouble keeps on getting worse with "new arrivals" then you can bet that there might be more wars and more Families deteriorating too.

Oh Well.....

I really want Janice to go. I can not stand her. As far as uncle junior goes, I like him and i want him to stay.

Just to break in here kids. Some earlier poster referred to Uncle Junior as a Moustache Pete. Technically he's about two generations past the last of the Moustache Pete's which referred to the mob generation before Lucky Luciano and the "Murder Inc." bunch.
Granted that was one hell of a long run on sentence...but just wanted to clear up that misnomer.

I'll go with Johnny Sac or Adrianna. Out of curiosity, if Adrianna got too guilty and told Christopher about her dealings with the Feds, or if she was found out without admitting it, what do you think Chris's reaction will be? Support Tony's decision to kill her?

I believe Christopher will be the next to die just for these reasons:
1.His drug problem is starting to get way out of hand.
2.His girlfriend is in deep s**t due to the fact the FBI knows about her. If the FBI get's Christopher, Chris could try to rat out Tony and the gang in order to save his own ass. Tony could find out and immediately put a hit on Chris and blame the whole thing on his girlfriend.
3.The actor who plays Chris (Micheal Imperioli) is currently working on a couple of films and he might put an end to his character just to focus on his movie career.

Pacino fan, you should post in The Sopranos section more often! I see your point, but if Chris is whaked I don't think it would ever be by Tony; Tony sees Chris as the future of the Family, and is putting all responsibilties onto the young man's shoulders as time goes by. And as for his drug problem, have you seen all of season four yet? If you haven't, don not read any further...............

Chris, after rehab, was so clean he was squeaking! Looks to be really back on track, and let's hope it stays that way.

I really think Chris is a long shot to be whacked! He seems to be straightened out from his drug problem and I think, being the only young adult male in the cast, I think he should remain in the storyline.

Even tho I'll stick with Junior, I do still wonder what Adrianna's fate will be!! Plus if they bring Furio back, that would be a whole new storyline wouldn't it? I'd love to see that.

well im gonna post a reply not having seen season four. i don't have those pay per channels but i do buy each season the day it comes out. and i have already been informed of the big events in season four. so i feel i can comment. i believe paulie will go. he has or so i heard been defecting over to new york. tony will find out, and im sure he will take swift action like he did with pussy.
