This is the first time i watched it by myself and without interuption and i caught many things. This is a really good movie, It has many paralells to the first and 2nd but it has a new style.
Things i noticed: I think Micheal said this when he was havin the diabetic stroke but when he says Altobello, you decietful old f**k and then yells fredo, "you decietful old f**k" could be like altobello and Hyman roth.
Antoher thing after Micheal had the stroke he was hospitalized and left Vincent with the decision to perform a hit on zasa- similar to Don vito gettin shot and Micheal having to the same with solozzo. There were some other things but I need to watch the film again in order to recall them.
The oranges: I like how they were used to symbolize death in each film
GF: When don vito is running from the assassins he knocks over the barrel of oranges. And before he dies at the end he cuts up an orange.
GF2: Johnny Ola gives Micheal and Orange when he comes to Lake Tahoe and later that night Micheal survives the Hit. When Micheal, Tom, Rocco are planning on how to get Roth and Micheal says he wants him met off the plane in Miami, Micheal is eating an orange.
GF3: Before the Helicopter hit, oranges roll off the fruit basket in the center of the table. When altobello is meeting with the Assassins mosca and i believe his son(the donkey sound kid), altobello throws mosca's son an orange, And finally at the Death of Micheal corleone im not sure but i beleive he drops an orange as he dies.

There is alot more "orange" situations. Go to J Geoff's GODFATHER Site (www.thegodfathertrilogy.com) and there is much, much more focus about the oranges. orange orange orange

Hey, how's it going?

Well, the Mafia controls the United Orange Pickers Union, so it's not surprising that there were so many oranges in the Trilogy.

In any case, that is one of the great things about the Trilogy - the continuity. I just love it.

Good observations! And just to add to what you said about the Hit on Zsa Zsa, another similarity in that whole scenerio is that in GFI Vito was not at all happy in who carried out the hit on Sollozo, and how it all went down. In GFIII Michael, like his father in GFI, is not happy with how the whole situation with Zsa Zsa is handled. Basically Vito, in waving them away from his bedside after finding out that Michael was the one who carried out the plan, is saying to his family "it is not what I wanted", the exact way Michael feels in GFII.

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.
