This is a game, which I picked up at another maffia board.
I think this belongs here and not in the "Word games thread" because this really deals with facts-content of the maffia.
It works like this: You say a couple of names, for exemple; Capone, Luciano, Valachi, Anastasia.
And then the next person has to say who differs from the others, and why! In this case, that would be Capone because he was in the Outfit and not in the Mafia. Just an exemple, you can be more creative, I think. When someone guessed it, he can post a new one.
I hope this will work ... :p

It IS a game, but lets see how it plays out (no pun intended) before we decide where it belongs. BTW - It COULD be argued that Valachi doesn't belong on that list, too..... all the others were leaders of their groups, Valachi was only a soldier.

SC, of course you're right about Valachi. Sometimes it's a bit tricky... What's also special is that sometimes you can say the right person, but for a different reason than the previous poster had in mind. Edit: Who'll post a new one?

John Gotti Vito Genovese Carmine Galante "Fat Tony" Salerno [/b][/quote]Let me guess... I could think about two. 1-Carmine Galante: His position as the Boss of the Bonanno Family was not allowed by the Commission, he was a "De Facto" Mafia Boss. 2-Anthony Salerno: He was never the boss of the Genovese Family because he was Vincent "The Chin" Gigante`s frontman, he pretended to be the boss for The Chin, because Gigante could be hidden pretending to be crazy and keep a low profile, so the FBI agents had no choice to have survillance on Salerno, the would be-boss. So, Vincent Gigante could make all the decisions.

To take a page from SC's book....
Profaci, 'cuz everyone else's name ends in the letter "O"? (j/k)
I'm gonna say Bonanno.
Just a guess, but I think that maybe Profaci was Costello's successor and Gambino was Luciano's successor (or was it the other way around, or am I completely wrong here?), while there is no successor for Bonanno on the list.

Another "strictly a guess":
Moretti was the only one not originally from Brooklyn?

No. Like I said earlier there are many possible correct answers for these lists, but your suggestion doesn't fit (i.e. Profaci started at the top, and Gambino and Luciano were from different Families).

I thought Gotti was from Brooklyn, but I just googled him and it turns out his family moved to Sheepshead Bay when he was just a tyke, but he did grow up there.

I think Gotti, cause A. He wasn't shot (but I think Profaci wasn't either so... damn ) or B. Gotti simply was from a different time in history, his reign was long after all the others.

Will somebody here please explain to this new guy Turnbull that he should read the question first. I told ya MY question was a ballbuster.... The answer I was looking for was Moretti. He was the only one (of the four) who didn't die in the month of June. As far as Pappo's question - I see the answer as "Anastasia". All the others have a first name of Joe.

Was Costello an original member of the Commission??

I'll wait to see if thats what Turnbull had in mind. (This is the disadvantage of this type of game - there could MANY correct answers).

Since Turnbulls hands are holding his Gonads, then I'll take the liberty to post one. Frankie Uale Johnny Torrio Al Capone Frank Nitti Don Cardi
Don Cardi Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.
