I just picked up "The Complete Idiot's guide to the Mafia" by Jerry Capechi. Anyone know any other books like this that they would recommend?

I got a big paperback book called The Mafia Encylcopedia (I forgot the author) which helped me get my feet wet in Mafia trivia, etc. I'm sure our resident Mafiologian, Turnbull, could turn you on to some real winners. I'd also suggest some individual biographical-type books, such as Henry Hill's story (Wise Guy), and Gotti: Rise and Fall.

I (still) haven't read a book on real life Mafia; my local best bookstore has nothing but garbage on the Kray twins et al--nothing at all on the Mafia really. They do have "Mafia: The First Hundred Years," which I desperately want to read, but it's a bit to expensive.

I suggest you do a search, mate, for a recent post about good books to read.

HELLS ANGELS: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF RALPH "SONNY" BARGER. This is not a "MAFIA" book butt I would recommend this book to anyone.

Hey, Capo, you can pick up the book I had, "The Complete Idiot's guide to the mafia", online, I got mine for about ten dollars. I can't remember the site but I'll try to find it.

I liked "Boss of Bosses" about Paul Castellano and the "Gotti: Rise and Fall" book.
