Turnbull, I have a proposal to make to you and I'd like to ask you a big favor. Im currently working on my personal Cosa Nostra website, its a site dedicated to real life organized crime (italian mafia), I'm working real hard on it with a friend of mine helping me out and Im really aiming for it to be BIG once it opens or at least gain that title sometime after. What I wanted to ask you was, since your a very knowledgeable guy in the world of la cosa nostra, and everybody here including myself comes to you with many questions and looks up to you, would you be willing to be apart of a section I look to title "Ask Turnbull", where frequent visitors of the site can e mail questions about anything in general relating to the mafia (much like pple ask you here) and they can be answered on the site in your section? The reason I didnt privately PM you about this is because I want everyone elses feedback , and if they really wanna see this section happen to show their support and see what we can do. Thanks for your vote of confidence, Goodfella. But, as you're alluding to, I'm far from the only person on these boards who's knowledgeable about organized crime. Perhaps you can get others to participate, and instead of naming the section after me , you could title it, "Ask My Paisani." That way, you'd get far more wisdom than I could contribute, and more people than I would be able to participate.

dont be so modest , your right im sure everyyybody here can def contribute but its much easier to have 1 person who answers the viewers question as apposed to all the board members, and i KNOW im not alone in saying your the best canidate, so please Turnbull, even if your not the MOST knowledgeble, just do me the favor as 1 friend to another and everyone will be happy . This is like a non profit business proposal for Turnbull. I think you'd be best getting the site up and running for a while first before asking him. Show him what he's in for first before he can decide whether or not to part of your website. No one would sign up for anything if they don't know what they're getting.

yes your right Turi. Turnbull I shall wait until my site opens early summer or so, and then propose then when you have more to think about. After searching through the boards for information on numerous subjects that you have covered...I cant help but think theres no way I could possibly explain things better myself, because everything youve stated is so in depth and factual that theres really no reason for me to try and re word it. My sites devotion is to teach others about La Cosa Nostra so I was just wondering id youd mind me using some of the past and present information you have posted on diff subjects ranging from the Castellammare war, to rankings, to famous mafioso information, etc. Id of course, give you the credit you deserve under all information used that comes from you. Is this ok with you, if not I shall understand.

Is your site going to contain a Bulletin Board, or is it going to be an informative, generic website on the American Cosa Nostra? - By your offer to Joltin, Joe. I imagined my question to be answered with an affirmitive yes. I did not know however if you were serious.

If you need any help. I would be glad to help in the future. Definatly. Let me know Goodfella. Though. I believe I'm too; undescipharable to and a bit too open-minded to moderate a Bulletin Board. Regardless. It's up in the air, and my offer still remains.

Im aiming for the site to be the biggest on the net, but that wont happen until long after its opened, gradually...but its my goal. Its gonna have all cosa nostra info i can possibly get on there...i'll constantly be adding more old and new information even after the site has opened...and yea we are going to have a chatroom, a guestbook, and a message board. Im sure I could make a moderator for 1 of the many forums I look to have so once thats up and running i'll def come to you about it, or if i forget just simply remind me.

lol. No competition at all. Thats another thing I wanted to talk about and ask members. Would most of you be willing to post on both boards? I know this board dominated, and I have to find SOMEWAY to make mine different from this one so that there is actually a reason to post...but this board pretty much covers everything. I'm in no way going to try and steal the members from here because # 1 thats just not possible and # 2 Im still gonna post here myself. But it would be greatly appreciated if members could post on both boards as frequently as possible. I'm probably gonna open the boards before the actual site so I'll let everyone know when thats up in about a week or so probably. Maybe sooner.

When I finally get a job this summer Im going to buy as many books as possible. I def wanna check out "Murder Machine" asap. All knowledge on the site before I read is just knowledge I've already accumulated and whatnot. Certain things Turnbull has written up may be used also simply because I'm not just looking for a popularity contest, I really want people to know as much about the Mafia as possible (not because I adore gangsters) but because like all of us, I am fascinated by it all. Thanks to all who agreed to visit the site once it opens, I greatly appreciate it .

*EDIT* - A girl from school has "Murder Machine" stuffed away in her locker and said I could borrow it when I asked her just now so I'll be getting to that shortly . Anyone whos read it, how is it? I know its about Roy and his crew but is it good?

"Murder Machine" is just ok, no more. It goes into the personal life of Dominick Montiglio, his uncle Nino and Roy DeMeo in far greater detail than you'd see in other Mob books. That said, Montiglio isn't a very interesting or appealing character. And it's a lot of pages for not very much action or historical sweep.

I concur with Turnbull. Very detailed and goes into Anthony "Nino" Gaggi's crew, a Capo under Big Paulie Castellano. It's a book full of murder and betrayal. It's far from a bad read, it's ok, you'll keep reading it till the end. But that being said it doesn't lead anywhere. Infact I think my favourite part of the book was Dominik Montiglio's involvement in the Vietnam war.
