Or do we get some organised cybercrime??
What do you think, I think in one way that history always repeats.

I hope future Famiglias go back to their roots and get smarter about a few things. The drug trafficking should come to an end. And to be a made guy you should be more then just some thug off the street whos most likely gonna rat out the family in the future. This thing of ours has comed to a horrible hault and is becoming a dying thing. If things dont take a turn for the better soon...The "Mafia" is gonna disapear completely and pretty much become extinct. In other words as of RICO its been an endangered species.

Ethnic crime in America thrives on lack of opportunity in legitimate fields. The reason that organized crime was dominated by Irish, Italian, Jewish and Chinese gangs, in their day, was that the bigotry, poverty, and lack of opportunity they experienced led them to other opportunities--particularly in crime. Often the Mafia, the Tong, etc., was the employer of last resort in ethnic neighborhoods. MOst gang members were just plain street thugs, but occasionally organized crime attracted a superior type, like Frank Costello, Carlo Gambino, Meyer Lansky, Arnold Rothstein or Big-Ears Tu, who could have made it in business, the professions or the arts if they had had education or opportunity. Once the process of assimilation and education became widespread, and legitimate opportunities opened up, the smarter people went to college and became pezzanovanti in business. The gangs were left with the John and Junior Gottis.
Future famiglias are unlikely to be Italian-American. They will be (already are in many cases) composed of Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Jamaicans, Columbians, Russians--newer immigrants whose situations match those of the earlier ethnics.
