I am making a research paper about the mafia, but I don't want to make the title Mafia or Organized Crime. Something like Sicilian Omerta and the Dons...etc. Got any ideas? I need this urgently!!!

Before you come up with the title, you need a theme/concept of the paper... the title is the last thing you need to worry about. Do you mean what should your paper be about? I don't know, what interests you?

I want to write something about the mafia, but I don't want to directly write the topic as: Mafia or Cosa Nostra, you know.

What's an alternative name?

You haven't replied about the exact nature of your paper. If its just a general history of the Mafia, I'd suggest for the title "This Thing of Ours" (the English translation of "La Costra Nostra").

Or perhaps the evolution of La Cosa Nostra from Sicily/Italy to America, and the differences between the two. I think "This Thing of Ours" would be a decent title.

I wish I would have gotten to study and write about this topic at Ohio State. I will thank Ohio State for their generous library, were much of my research of the mafia and other things Sicilian took place.
