What's up with women in the mafia you never hear that much about em unless there sluts or mafia wives. Did any women try to get mixed up in the mafia? :rolleyes:

At the risk of being totally politically incorrect here, the Mafia men do not hold women in high regard as potential business equals.

Women have been portrayed in movies, and stories as mistresses (Judith Exner and Virginia Hill are two famous ones that come to mind), but there aren't many cases of them being portrayed in other, more positive ways.

Well, I once read a (probably fictional) novel called "Prizzi's Honor" regarding "The most powerful Mafia family in North America (they all say the same don't they?). In that story, the underboss of the Prizzi family gets married to a non-Italian/Sicilian broad who happens to be a hit-person.

"Prizzi's Honor" is definitely a work of fiction (and a pretty decent one at that). If you haven't seen the movie, I'd recommend it (it's a kind of black comedy). It stars Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner.
