What does Michael say in between Merle asking "Can I have a drink or something?" and Connie asking "Al, would you please get him a drink?" Thanks.

He says in italian to Connie "what does he want?"

I love that scene because Michael never addresses or acknowledged Merle.

"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."

"I am Constanza: Lord of the idiots."

Hate to be a pain in the ass, but actually Michael says, "Che vuoi?" to Connie, which means, "What do YOU want?".

I have another question about dialogue, and this way I don't have to open a new topic for it.

Anyone knows where I can find a transcript including the Italian dialogue?

Click on the link at the top for GF1 or GF2 then look for the link for "Transcript." Not sure how much if any of the italian language dialog is in the transcript. But that topic has been covered in previous posts. You can use the forum search function and you'll find a number of accurate transcriptions of the italian language scenes in other discussions.

Dear Enzo Scifo,

I'm italian, and I always watch the Godfather in my language. If you need some translations, tell me, and I would be glad to help you.

Ciao

Voi is a plural pronoun. Michael's addressing Connie.

Que - I don't recognize.

See post above: Che vuoi?

It is Sicilian dialect for "Che voli?" literally "What does he want?" This is after Merle asks for a drink. Michael never even dignifies Merle by speaking to him, but speaks to Connie instead.

"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."

Actually, if you see my post above, Michael completely ignores Merle and says, Que vuoi to Connie. He was dismissing Merle as unimportant and asking Connie what she wanted, why she had come to see him.

The way he snubs Merle is really Michael at his coldest. "I don't know this Merle, I don't know what he lives on..." and if you marry this man I will be very disappointed, and best of all
tell him marriage is out of the question, I'm sure he'll understand.

I love that scene, and then when Mama tells Tom that Merle and Deanna are exactly the same, and Tom just sort of ducks his head and smirks. Perfect scene!!
