Stecyuk survived an assasination attempt some years ago in Riga, Latvia. Two hitmen with AK's opened fire at him and his family, bodyguards shot back and caught one of the hitmen who was Chechen Descent. The hitman later got 13 years in prison for this assasination attempt.
Another person not mentioned in the article, but people rumoring connected to the case is Yuriy "Polkasha" Polkovnikov - ex member of Haritonov Brigade, had a fight some years ago with Maxim Gavrilov, a brigade leader from Pardaugava Group. Polkovnikov got beaten up bad that time, but Gavrilov got assasinated a half year later.
Also in the comments people say that the current leader of the Haritonov Brigade - Gennadiy "Dlinniy(english: Tall guy)"Valyagin got arrested also with connection to this case, but there's no confirmation about it.
