The new show got picked up for two seasons, the first of which will be six episodes long. It stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. Dickens will play a guidance counselor, and Dillane and Carey will play her children. Dickens' and Curtis' characters will reportedly be in a relationship.

Set in Los Angeles around the time of the zombie outbreak, "Fear the Walking Dead" will act as something of a prequel for "The Walking Dead," which is set in and around Atlanta and featured a time jump in its pilot to months after the apocalypse.

Season 1 of "Fear the Walking Dead" will premiere in late summer 2015, while Season 2 will air in 2016
