I DO remember reading the Governor was a main character in the comics but didn't realize Rick wasn't in it. He is my favorite, along with Darryl. Tho the entire cast is excellent IMHO. I shy away from reading comic book comments just in case there are spoilers. BUT, I'm kind of glad to see the series strays from the comic quite a bit it seems.
