The picture of Masseria on holiday is from March 1930 and the woman is his wife. Theres also another photo where he is with his wife and Joe Jr.(one of nine adult sons). You can find both these pictures in New York City Gangland book.


Luciano was arrested down in Miami, Florida around the time of when that picture of Masseria and wife was taken. It looks like they were both (Luciano and Masseria) down there to relax and to...gamble. During a raid on a suite in a Miami Beach hotel, 19 gamblers were rounded up. Luciano was arrested on operating the gambling game, carrying a concealed weapon (he had a revolver on him) and vagrancy charges. One of the gamblers arrested, had 60 thousand dollars on him! But another, hapless soul had only 12 cents... lol
