Agreed! I love the rare pics. Here is one my favorites from Life Magazine Feb 14 1969 on page 56: Buster Wortman's funeral. This picture has 2 of the bosses of the St. Louis family (Vitale and Giordano) and the deceased east side boss (Wortman, part of the Chicago family) in the same picture. Throw in Louis Shoulders, one of the most corrupt cops in the history of law enforcement.

Interesting tidbit - the author of this article, won the Pulitzer for a later report on the relationship between St. Louis family and the Mayor, AJ Cervantes, his Crime Commissioner and Morris Shenker, mob lawyer. The local paper would not print the article, because the editor didn't believe the story and allegations. It was later learned that the editor did not print it under pressure from the Mayor's office and that the FBI leaked the whole story to Walsh. Life published the story, and the Mayor sued them for libel. He lost his suit.

Both articles have great pics of old time St. Louis gangsters.

Best way to catch the smart ones? Get an idiot working for them.
