The Zerilli Family of Detroit, MI

Detroit Family boss Joseph (Joe Z) Zerilli and his lifelong partner, underboss Guglielmo (Black Bill) Tocco were two of the smartest mafiosi to ever operate in America...an intelligence that still shows to this very day with the legacy they left us...the current Detroit Family of Cosa Nostra.

The Detroit crew is one of the few Families outside of NYC/NJ and the general northeast sector (Philly & NE) to still be operating and fully functional.

They have survived the federal onslaught of the last 2-3 decades......much better than even their Chicago neighbor has. That's HUGE!

The "Zerilli Family" is an impressive borgata for sure. They formulated a tight enough structure that even in 2020 works like a charm!

Great read it's good to see something not about Ny/Chicago.

From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn.

Which is crazy because the "kid" is 70!

Detroit is a super corrupt city. That explains a lot.

And it is quite simple why he is in power. Out of everyone with the last name Tocco,Zerilli and Giacalone he is the most adept at making money/captaining the ship.

Natty suit there Tony Jack is sporting. He and Fratianno must have had the same tailor. Richard Dawson from Family Feud also, for that matter.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

I think the Detroit mobsters kept things traditionally Sicilian that's why they were so successful over the years, to me they're more like the Rizzutos of Canada than your typical American LCN family.

To me the Rizzutos were more of a drug cartel than a traditional LCN family with a Boss, U.B., Consig, Captains, Made Men and Associates...

Seems there was no respect for LCN rules, that you don't take on a boss...

With a drug cartel as long as you have a supplier you can take out the current organization and start supplying their contatcs...
Just take them out and move in

NO RULES...

That's really what happene with Rizzuto, they weren't supposed to be their own family they were a crew of the Bonnanos but they tossed that.

Detroit is strict LCN, RULES stricter than any other LCN family.

Dont really see and similarities between the two
