Think some of the that may have to do with the sport as well. I don't follow football but I always believed Manziel seemed to be the kind of kid who believed his own hype. As for Brown, who konws? Maybe it's a situation like Junior Seau/Aaron Hernandez. Too many shots to the head/CTE. If you haven't seen it already olivant, on Netflix check out a 3 episode mini-series called KILLER INSIDE: THE MIND OF AARON HERNANDEZ. It's pretty good.

I've watched half of it, it's pretty good. Was he really gay? Unlucky to be brought up with a father figure like that if he was.

No idea on him being gay or not. Like I said, I don't follow football and this was the first I've heard of it. But even if he was, who cares?

I hear ya. It doesn't bother me one bit what someone's sexuality is either. It would just be a shitty thing to go through having the kind of authoritative figures he did in his life while being a homosexual. His father certainly wouldn't have accepted it in my opinion, and to be honest, I doubt his coaches and agents would have either. Imagine all the guys leeching on to him to make money for themselves. I doubt they would be encouraging of his homosexuality when it impacts on their bottom line.

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

That may be the case. The hit took place near the end of the 2016 season. I don't recall any of Brown's antics during the 2017 season except his locker room broadcast near the end of the season.. His real antics erupted during the 2018 season, so the concussion effects may have been delayed.

That's the thing, does it affect anyone's bottom line? And with football being all about masculinity and a "man's man" sport, he never would have been accepted. So I can definitely understand that.

Reports are beginning to come out that most other air traffic was grounded due to fog. Seems like this could have been avoided (even more heartbreaking if that is indeed the case)

Tragic. Kobe was one of the greatest players I’ve ever seen. The closest player I’ve seen to MJ.

Well, the XFL has suspended operations and laid-off all of its employees.

I don't think the NFL season will take place either.

Is anybody watching the espn michael Jordan documentary this weekend? I am looking forward to all 10 parts of it. Jordan was the best player I’ve ever watched.

Absolutely I am! I can’t wait. This was supposed to come out in June but with the coronavirus hitting, they pushed it up (which I’m glad about). The O.J. MADE IN AMERICA is the best 30 for 30 they’ve done in my opinion. That was a 5-part series. This is 10. Hoping it’s better and I feel it will be! Glad they took their time and extended it out and didn’t try to cram it into a shortened, more broad version.

The draft was better than I expected it to be. I thought it would be a snoozer because it was being done virtually. I was wrong. Both New York teams(not including Buffalo) had a fantastic draft in my opinion. I was very happy with the picks my Giants made.

Governor Abbott will allow gyms to open on May 18, but only at 25% capacity and no locker rooms.

Curious what others think. So with THE LAST DANCE on ESPN the last few weeks, I'm wondering how many people believe, had Jordan not retired, they could have gotten through Orlando and Houston in 1994 & 1995, and won 8 straight titles. Thoughts?

I think Jordan wins both. Houston would’ve been a great series to watch. I am liking the show a lot so far.

Me too. I think the 1994 Rockets could have been harder than the 1995 team (but in 1995 the Bulls would have had to have gotten by Orlando first, and that wouldn’t have been easy). Plus, who was gonna guard Hakeem? Bill Cartwright? Will Purdue? It would have been an interesting matchup for sure and I’m not sure who would have won honestly.

Hakeem was unstoppable during those 2 years Jordan was out. They all would have been great series. At that time I don’t think anyone could stop Jordan and his team enough to win in 7 games but the Magic and Rockets would have made it interesting.

Watched the Bruce Lee BE WATER 30-for-30 documentary on ESPN from last Sunday. It was good but could have been so much better. Focused too much on identity politics and racism for my taste. Looking forward to LONG GONE SUMMER this Sunday about the McGwire/Sosa 1998 homerun chase.

Finally after 36 years the F1 is back in Holland, people are going mad it's a national event. I still remember the Dutch GP in Zandvoort in the 80s with Lauda and Prost, now we have the battle between Lewis and Max.
