Thanks for the news Hollander. And I like your sig! lol

Capeci gave him a good write up.
"In November of 1989, when the DA's office had obtained enough evidence for a search warrant, the ceiling bug picked up Joe Gambino's opinion of what investigators would conclude when they went through CCCs books and records: "They're going to say to themselves, 'Do you want to know something? These fucking Mafia guys really run a solid business.'"

Is his sister alive? apparently no relation to the Sinatra family. Tommy Gambino is the most interesting one. I bet Lucky and the originals met Tommy as a kid but Joe didn't.

With EU-IP you can see the picture.

Right on Nitro, that's Tommy Gambino.

Just wanna say I read a lot of comments about how some of guys are not in the class with the old time guys especially the way they're caught talking on phones/bugs. This guy may come from a long line of mobsters but he was recorded ALOT in clear language about criminal activities. Cost him and his family control of the garment industry. Just to pointing out the hypocrisy that comes out when discussing the "old school" versus present guys. BTW he was never made either.

True, but i compare Gambinos with gotti's. Just my opinion. But Gambino's are quiet guys.
Very wealthy but not famous. Before he died it was not easy to find a picture about Joseph Gambino.
Mixing legal and illegal activities are typical for cosa nostra. Not flashy lifestyle but interested in power.

This kind of streetgangster like Gotti have never overcome their social origins.
For example Gambino's, Marcello's live in elite circles of society. And thats it's typical for the cosa nostra (sicily).

Nitro, I understand and I wasn't directing it you. Please don't take it that way I was just making a point how we idolize the "old school" guys and criticize the more modern ones. My opinion is the "old school" were absolutely no different for the most part, the technology and tactics used then versus now was so much more amateur that the "old school" just weren't recorded because it was able to be done not because they were less careless. The point being old or new all gangsters talked and bragged. Just easier to record and tape now versus before.

100% agree with it.

Another point
I can't prove it. But I'm sure. In the "good old day" some mobster get highly protection from government agency.
I'm sure this change in the 70's 80's. Maybe after 11/9 we have another change in the relationship between law enforcement and mob.

Gotti was a shitbag too dude probably a bigger one. He talked shit behind everyone’s back. As for Tommy and Gotti I wouldnt say they were close. Angelo also called Tommy a “sissy dressmaker” so I’m sure Gotti did too. I mean Gotti was the boss and Tommy wasn’t exactly the muscle so there was nothing he could do when Paul was killed. I’m sure he wasn’t happy about it.

To be fair, Gambino's children weren't raised to get their hands dirty like Sammy Gravano. They profited from their connections and made a fortune on the backs of the criminal endeavours of people with balls much larger than theirs.

If they were faced with a long, long sentence, like Leonetti or Gravano, they would probably rat as well.

Guys like Tommy and Joe Gambino are every bit as bad as guys like Roy De Meo and Sammy Gravano.

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

Yes, the Gambino's always maintained ties to the old country.

I never knew much about Joe. Like others have said, that is typical of the someone like Carlo. Was he on the same level of his brother as far as power and wealth? Tommy is probably worth hundreds of millions or close to it. Carlo really set his family up for generational wealth and stability.

I just read up on the Magliocco family and the liquor business. They have the liquor business and the Profacis have the olive oil business. Impressive on their parts.

I had a patient who ran Magliocco's liquor importing back in the day. He had some stories shot during the war, which is when he was just a driver. All guys were on high alert and packing. I called bullshit on him. He told his wife to bring in the "ring". I guess "his Don" as he called him gave him this beautiful pinky ring. I never knew of Magliocco until having that patient.

There's lots of very successful guys who just put there kids in better positions in life. I was reading about some very lowkey genovese soldier in queens. He ran a huge book and set his kid up who became like the biggest car dealer in that borough. Massimo tried to get his hooks into the car place but the genovese told him to stay away a bitter Massimo when he flipped got the father jammed up on gambling and loans I think wasn't that long back maybe a decade.

This is true. It’s clear that a lot of the old time bosses set their kids and grandkids up well. Many of them are moguls and some may be even be worth billions of dollars in the future.
