Not good enough to date the daughter of a heroin dealer. Ouch. Any wonder he murdered him?

I don't think so, what is the easiest way to lure out someone if u dont have his phone? Well just mess with his car. That explains the 12 shots fired , that is not professional at all

yeah the 12 shots are unprofessional but can also be out of anger too
well that's weird
we have to wait for more news

A white guy involved in a shooting in NYC?? You are more likely to get hit by lightning than be shot by a white person in NYC, this guy has to be a real degenerate, probably one of those heroin/pill addicts, wouldn't that be ironic with the rumors that Cali was profiting from that, wait and see, they also called the guy that shot Louie from Spumoni white, turned out to be a Puerto Rican.

The daughter theory is wrong: However, public records showed that Mr. Cali has three sons. A criminal court filing in 2008 identified each of his children by name and age but made no mention of a daughter.

Agreed! 12 shots and only 6 hit him at that range? Very sloppy! If this was a hit, they would have had someone very responsible and talented to do the hit as they were going after a boss. Cali would have turned around and pop, pop hes done. Also a coup de grace to the head is always a sign of a good hit. They would have given him one to the head most likely to make sure the job was done. This was all torso shots. Seems amateur. But again....who the hell knows?

He wouldn't let the shooter date his son?

The sources said the murder wasn't related to the mob. One source described the man in custody as a “conspiracy theory type” of guy while a second source said he appears “a bit off.”

One theory being looked into is whether the suspect wanted to date one of the mob boss's relatives and Cali told him to back off, the sources said.

It's a bit of a myth that mob murders like this, even involving high echelon guys like Cali, are always clean.

Vincent Gigante had Frank Costello at point blank range and he could only graze him. Fat Pete Chiodo was ambushed at a garage by at least two Lucchese soldiers and they couldn't kill him despite riddling him with bullets. Jimmy Hydell botched the killing of Anthony Casso when he had a clean shot at him sitting in his car; and you can say, "it's only Jimmy Hydell", but it was a Gambino capo who put the hit squad together.

Plenty of other examples.

The Zottola killing was a hit as well and the thing was a farce. How many times did they try to kill that guy botching the job time after time before they finally managed to get it done?

Looks like the clean hit is a lost art in this day and age.

There are no “perfect crimes” anymore. 21st century advances in *police science* won’t allow for it. Didn’t take ⁦NYPD Detectives⁩ long to take someone into custody in the Gambino boss, Francesco “Frank” Cali, homicide. -- James A. Gagliano

That's why the only shooters you see now are the one's that fall asleep behind the wheel, nobody in their right mind is going shoot somebody on somebody else's orders, for what? To get made? Doesn't mean shit anymore, it's all over, it's been over for a long time...

Law enforcement sources called the suspect, who gunned down the powerful crime kingpin outside his Staten Island home, a "complete nut."

Was Cali shooting back? One of the initial reports stated he was reaching for a gun while trying to use his vehicle as cover. That could explain the sloppy hit if the shooter was trying to avoid bullets himself.

As for the daughter, could he have an adopted daughter or niece who was close?

Chiodo's fat absorbed the bullets. I'm not kidding that was the actual medical explanation to how he survived those shots.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn.

I think LE said Cali was either Acting Boss or more then likely; Underboss.

Dom Cefalu I believe is still the top man.
