This is a complete gut punch to me. I've only been a member for 2 months but this has easily been my favorite streaming service during that time. The ability to watch so many hard-to-find or "often discussed, yet never watched" movies all in one place. This absolutely sucks! cry

I recently watched The Force Awakens. Who or what is that immense gargoyle type figure that appears to be the leader of the First Order? I didn't get to watch all of it, so I don't know how he is explained.

I've seen them but don't have the patience for it. Plus, it doesn't always have a lot of old or hard to find movies.

So supposedly their moving forward with plans on making a sequel to GLADIATOR. I am completely AGAINST this! Just look at what the original script was supposed to be about. I don't even know how someone was paid to actually write this script. It is beyond garbage!

I remember a different script that came out during the writers strike. Maximus is dead and is in Elysium, but one of the gods Mars I believe imprisoned Jupiter and has blocked the rest of the souls from entering. Vulcan makes weapons and armor for Maximus, Cave really borrowed a lot from Perseus story in Clash of the Titans. Half way through the story, the gods grant him to return among the living to fight the Imperial Cult members who are loyal to Mars, with Mercury serving as the ferryman. He kills the leaders, return to Elysium, battles and finally is greeted by his family. That is as much as I can remember, but nowhere do I remember reading about Maximus going back in time or him killing Christ or his apostles.

FilmStruck Movie Streaming Subscription-Streaming Service to Shut Down

Looks like there's hope yet! While it's not FilmStruck, the Criterion Collection is releasing their own streaming service next Spring. And, due to the outpouring of support, WarnerMedia (who owns FilmStruck) has said as a compromise, they're plans to include some type of TCM/FilmStruck iteration when WarnerMedia's new service drops in fourth quarter 2019. Excellent news indeed!

Finished NARCOS: MEXICO in 2 days and while I did enjoy it, it was probably my least favorite compared to the other 3 season. I do look forward to the next season however as this show always delivers!

Currently I'm halfway through OZARK Season 2 and it's just as great as Season 1.

Finished Ozark Season 2 yesterday. Fantastic show. Just as strong as Season 1. Really looking forward to Season 3 next year. Huge shout out to Julia Garner who I felt made some really strong strides this season as Ruth. That is one firecracker you do not want to mess with!

Stars Encore re-airing Miami Vice. Season 1 episode 1 showed last night. Recorded it and just finished watching it when I got off work today.

I vaguely remember my mom watching this when I was kid in the 80's. Good first episode.

Al Pacino could star in his first TV series: https://411mania.com/movies/al-pacino-in-talks-to-play-a-nazi-hunter-for-new-amazon-series/.

Sounds interesting.

Inspired by real-life events apparently?

Yeah I read that too. It's being produced or written by Jordan Peele and based on the story, it has my interest. Plus I'm a prime member so I can stream it for free so I'd take a chance on it. Why not?

No NO NO! Can you please just leave it alone? Another 30+ years later sequel that will be horrible, long overdue, and nothing that anybody wanted or needed.

Is Jordan Peele a modern case of affirmative action?

I feel like every single thing he's involved with has an agenda behind it made possible by the social and political climate we're living in.

I get the impression nobody would've heard of him if his creative heyday was in the 80s, 90s, or 00s.

What's his next idea going to be? A dramatic retelling of the LA Riots where a young, idealistic black DA pursues justice against the cops who beat Rodney King, with the cops rewritten as redneck caricatures with Texan accents?

Or perhaps a blaxploitation movie where Jesse Owens goes undercover in Germany to rub out Hitler before he starts WW2?

Moe..perhaps u should b a screenwriter w/ ur brilliant but out of whack(in a good way) sense of gaze of life in general & beyond..u would certainly make a lot of $$..not 2 mention ur an a aristocrat...I always liked reading ur posts & thank God ur not in cahoots w/that Oak dude anymore...notice that ever since politics was banned , he don't have a lot 2 say.....God forbid ..specially now w/ all that's going on w/ the wall & Trump...if the regulators didn't ban politics , he would b all over the place & some other posters that don't contribute 2 much anymore. Luv ur rare pics too Moe..Peace.

I don't mind Jordan Peele. In fact, his only work that I've seen is GET OUT which I did think was wonderfully done. However, I'm a little skeptical going in to his next movie, US. I'm wondering if it's another "all white people are the devil and the cause of all of our problems"? I hope not. You told that story in GET OUT and that's fine. Move on.

With this being a board full of Italian members, can anybody recommend a good giallo film? I've seen only a handful but am interested in viewing more of the genre. I've seen some of the big ones: DEEP RED, TORSO, TENEBRAE, OPERA, THE CAT O' NINE NAILS. And some not so big ones: STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR KILLER, THE NEW YORK RIPPER. I've got YOUR VICE IS A LOCKED ROOM AND ONLY I HAVE THE KEY on my queue for Amazon Prime but was wondering if anyone else enjoys this genre and could recommend something? Thanks!

I didn't have too much luck olivant. I was only able to find 4 of them:

-EVIL EYE (Shudder)
-BLOOD AND BLACK LACE (Shudder)
-THE THIRD EYE (Amazon)
-A...FOR ASSASSIN (Amazon)

I'll let you know how I like them and I'll see if the others won't be added to either of these platforms in the future. If you think of any more, please continue to pass them my way!

Thanks again olivant. Out of those I was only able to find FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON on Shudder and FORBIDDEN PHOTOS OF A LADY ABOVE SUSPICION through Amazon. This is a good starting point for now. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me but I definitely appreciate it again!
