As some of you know, I met Mario Puzo and his companion CAROL GINO in 1996 at a Manhattan book signing for his novel, THE LAST DON. I was in contact with Carol often as I was compiling MarioPuzo.com in the '90s and we have kept in touch ever since. She's an author in her own right, so I was excited to hear that she'd written a memoir about their relationship as well as a glimpse into the mind of the master storyteller himself! Was the Family a good read Geoff? I am definitely going to read the book you mentioned. Puzo was an interesting man. They say he could have been a great writer, but he had to go more commercial after his first novel The Dark Arena, a critical success, sold only a relatively low amount of books.

The Family was quite interesting, and I think a good read.
