Been meaning to read this book about Roy DeMeo and his Gemini Lounge crew, who are allegedly responsible for 100’s of killings and dismemberments.

I’m about 1/4 through. They go into excruciating detail about the various hoods involved, especially in the beginning. It’s almost too much information. I do know it eventually becomes graphic, but I haven’t reached the scary parts yet. It’s supposed to be one of the better mob books?

Has anyone completed the story and what did you think?

The book was average. As for the murder count, now it's up to the 100's. Eventually they will be credited with a million murders. They must still be killing people while in jail or dead.

It’s really two stories. One about the crew of psychos, and the other, the tragedy of Dominick Montiglio. Maybe things would have turned out better for him if he stayed away from Brooklyn and his Uncle Nino.

I find it hard to feel for Montiglio. He lied about being a Vietnam war hero, he was. a junkie, and then a rat. He is mentioned in the book stolen valor as a fraud regarding his service in the army.

I’m just getting through it SO slow. I don’t know if it’s the writing style, or what. I blazed through the Gaspipe book recently no prob.
