A few years back i made a topic about if Castellano had personally inducted Gotti, angelo gene or if Neil/Gallo did the ceremony. Obviously we know Paul wasnt a fan of Gotti and we know Neil was given control over overseeing the Bergin Crew so i still am not sure. However it got me thinking how many induction ceremonies did Paul conduct. Obviously he took over in November 1976 but was already acting boss while Carlo was dying. I know Frankie Decicco was apart of the first batch of guys made. Sammy claims he was made in 1976 but i think it was really 1977. Demeo was made in June 1977 and gotti in october/november of 77. I remember HairyKnucles had a lot of info on this stuff. Also somebody had posted a list of induction dates that seemed pretty accurate

According to Gravano, the books were opened in 1975 and guys were proposed, but people weren't actually initiated until the next year. The first group initiated were to replace those lost by attrition and Gravano was in the next group later that same year. He says both Dellacroce and Castellano were at his ceremony. If it was in 1976, it would have to be some time after Thanksgiving of that year because that's when Dellacroce got out of prison.

When you think about it, Castellano must have done A LOT of ceremonies. There was a 20 year backlog of people waiting to get made.

i think 77 78 79 was alot of guys. probaly monthly maybe 8 guys here 2 there. greg depalma was on a wire tap the night he got made in jan 1977 saying he was made with 10 other guys. it sounds like in 1980 they only let a few guy in. greg scarpa was telling the fni only joey scopo was made and another guy but the colombos also had the smallest family. there was a wired up talk with i think tony ducks saying the colombos were making way to many young guys. greg scarpa jr, mike franzese, joe scopo and ralph jr all guy almost all under 30 yrs old.

1977 was a big year that the New York families made a lot of members.
Thomas Gambino was 1975. He did most of them from 1977 up until Carmine Galante was killed, then after it seemed to be no more than 5 a year. Good job by Pogo by the way. I forgot both Aurello and Gravano were sponsored by Toddo and made at the same ceremony. Giuseppe Gambino, brother to John was 1978.
