The 50 biggest cocaine busts in Quebec history
We often hear drug seizures described in such terms as "one of the biggest-ever."
But it seems nobody has even taken the time to actually rank those seizures.
Until now, that is. This is my understanding of the biggest 50 cocaine busts in Quebec history.

1 - 4,323 kilos - Nov. 17, 1992: The biggest-ever seizure of cocaine in Quebec was discovered an an airstrip in Casey, 450 kilometres north of Montreal, near La Tuque. The plane had flown in from Colombia but American authorities were onto it and tipped off our authorities. Seven were arrested when it landed. The cocaine was sent to Montreal where it was burnt after a team of nine took five days to take samples for the prosecution.
2- 1,400 kilos May 20, 1993 This giant mountain of blow was seized by SQ and Canadian Customs officials after discovering the drugs hidden in two kilo packs welded into the floor of a ship that came here from Medellin, Colombia. Serge Groleau, 43; Michael Capobianco, 52; Richard Robillard, 37; Yves Dumoulin, 31 and Claude Robert, 39 faced charges in attempting to import an estimated $1 billion of cocaine.
