Been watching both seasons of crime story this week.

Pretty good show a lot of future stars on various episodes. Great 50s 60s music on it great cast.

So it was a fun show for me to watch.

Never even heard of this show until I saw your post. Looked it up on you tube and there it was. Watching the pilot episode now. So far so good.

I remember my brother in-law telling me about this show in the 80’s and saw it a few times.

Remember laughing my ass off watching it thinking how they were acuratly over dramatizing some people but found it one of the best shows on TV at the time .

Great show. I may watch it again but often find it hard reliving anything from the 80’s

Crime Story and Wiseguy were the kings of that genre at the time, maybe for all time.

It actually supposed to take place in the 1950s but it was shot in the 80s.

A lot of the same actors were in both shows. Anthony Denison I like him because he had a dead facial expression if you know what I mean when he did violence, the guy who played Paulie they say he was a real thief when they found him for the part.dennis farina who played torello was a real Chicago cop before he became an actor.

So many good actors were on both shows one was keven spacey, Julia Roberts when she was very young.

One of the guys in crime story actually killed Bruce Lee’s son in a movie by accident nice claim to fame. He played Bartoli. Michael Manson sonny black and other guys from Donnie brasco Milano sonny red were in this.also another guy in sonny blacks crews was in this. Almost for got Ray Sharkey was in both shoes. I met ray Sharkey when I lived in the Mayflower hotel. He was doing heroin at that time. He got aids from sharing needles.

I can remember watching this series as I was only 6 in '86 but we watched Crime Story every week it came on. If I remember right, it came on either Friday or Saturday which was odd for a hit show back then before cable. LOTS of stars got their start on the show. I still can't believe it only had 2 seasons and just disappeared..

As for Denison I agree, his part as Ray Luca fit him perfectly. I've seen him as a cop in Major Crimes I think it is and he is not a good cop compared to his gangster role. I thought (like Foot said above) that he nailed the gangster part. Torello (Dennis Farina) was an excellent Chicago cop which like Foot said he was the real deal at one point so the role came easy for him.

If I'm not mistaken, you can watch both seasons on Hulu for free or you could at one time. I'm almost certain they still have both seasons there if anyone wants to watch.

Yes Sir, I know....i meant anything from my personal experiences from the 80’s.

I also remember not being a fan at all of Wiseguy since at the time I felt it was just stories of some Rat bastard running around trying not to get caught being a shit Bag.

Oddly enough the prosecutor on the show (Stephen Lang) also played Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals if anyone has seen that. I never would have thought that considering the other roles he played. He also played General Pickett in the 2nd movie Gettysburg. Not bad for a guy born in NYC to play a Southerner and did a pretty damn good job I thought. He was a FBI guy in Public Enemies too which oddly enough was directed by Michael Mann who was the writer and director of Crime Story and Miami Vice.

I can remember Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Gary Sinise, Ving Rhames, and Pam Grier who all played on the show. A lot that played in Miami Vice were also in Crime Story too.

Now you see a lot of different actors on the newer shows. Like suits, and homeland and the walking dead. One is going to be in the real royal family soon her name is Markle she is marrying one of the princes. She is on suits. The actor who played her father was on suits and Ray Donovan.

Gary Sinise had a small but good part in Crime story.
