In the near future, a charismatic leader summons the street gangs of New York City in a bid to take it over. When he is killed, The Warriors are falsely blamed and now must fight their way home while every other gang is hunting them down.(IMDB)

Probably the last great film of the 70's and one of my favorite films. After all the sequels and reboots of films in recent years, i'm surprised they have not messed around with this film.

8/10

I saw the warriors when it came out in the movies. I thought it was funny. On my subway they did that. I thought the incident was better with tony musanti I thought he was good. The other guy from the west wing was bad.

I thought the wanders was okay.

You know the Fordham baldies came to Italian Harlem to fight the red wings. When they threw down the building around the corner from me they found the remains of 40 bodies in the basement baldies and viceroys and assorted others.

If it's not the greatest opening sequence of all time, it has to be close. The music almost sounds sci fi. I'm pretty sure that's the great Joe Walsh on guitar. Hollywood put so much creative effort into movies in the '70s, no matter the genre.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

It was a good action-filled film but I liked "The Wanderers" better. Better (IMO) soundtrack and a better story.

The Baseball Furies.

I like that movie, it was like the odyssey but for a more modern time. They have been talking about doing a remake, but in Los Angeles. I really can't see them making a remake set in the current times.

It was the closest to the way it was in the 50s 60s.

The music was great. I have played American football in that place in the Bronx. A lot of sandlot teams played in the BUA league. The Bronx umpires association league. We had teams in that league I played for a team called the black knights from the Bronx no age or weight restriction. Then we had ponzo’s team he was Johnny Delightful’s brother. Delightful was a place in Italian harlem on a hun 16 street and first Ave. I broke ponzu nose in a fight and lived to tell about it. Johnny played for ponzos team and the black knights with me. He is my best friend but I would fuck him up in practice. Them my older brother tried out for the knights I fucked him up to.

I was bowling at park Chester lanes in. The Bronx when we heard Kennedy was shot. No tears no stopping we just kept bowling. Kennedy was not loved by everyone back then.

We also played football against other blocks then in Jefferson Park on 114 street and first Ave. I played with a hun 9 against a hun 8 RayRay, blackie and butchie santerrlli, horse played for them mostly from the red wing gang and future purple gang and luchese family members.

They wanted me to play with them because I was good and I was an exceptional thief.

Once we all got together to play the viceroys in Central Park we wore track cleats the game did not last long. People startered to shoot people and stab people right away.

Oh remember the toy snub nose thirty eight it shot plastic bullets. You could actually turn that toy into a one shot zip gun. It shot a 22 bullet.

Also remember the knives they called a switch blade. We actually called that knife a button knife. Press the button it opened. My dear departed friend Denoto Donnie had a real switch blade. Because it came with two blades and you could switch them. A swingly stelloto blade and a regular straighter blade. I had no idea where he bought that. In the old days you could buy a button knife in any candy store. You paid a dollar and inch for a blade so you could by a button knife withban 8 inch blade for 8 dollars. Open it up 16 inches total length.

Know you could buy a snap shot knife good little knife. 4 inches keep it in your pants pocket take it out it open in a fraction of a second. Out side part is dull inside is raiser sharp. You can cut someone throat in a fraction of a second if your attacked.
