PB: Good to hear from you! This thread has been like a "Where's Waldo?" book without the Waldos.

I'm so sorry for your loss PB. I know exactly how you feel. I still miss my father and it's been over 6 yrs.

After my father passed away, I saw this quote in a card (I believe)and for some reason it really struck a chord with me.

"Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal. Love leaves a memory that no one can steal
." cry

Thoughts/prayers are with you.

You know no matter when a loved one dies to a normal person he died too soon. I know he was an Italian Harlem boy right. There are so very few Italians left there. Even during the Mount Carmel feast there are less and less going back to lift the Giglia. Notice I called your dad an Italian Harlem boy. No matter how old we get we are all Italian Harlem boys at heart no matter where we live now.

Hey I am sure he enjoyed playing with your kids his grand children before he died. Did he have any great grand children. Try to remember those times. Then you look at your kids or their kids think of him.

I'm sorry for your loss, PB. I know how close you were to your dad. He was, like my father, a real working-guy New Yorker.

I'm really glad you let everyone on the forum know why you were gone for so long. I was getting asked how and where you were but if you noticed I never folded under questioning lol.

When I first started posting on this forum you greeted me with the warmest of welcomes. Being a female among many males can be a little intimidating to some. And if someone said something inappropriate, you were right there to protect me which was so sweet. I kept telling you that I know how to handle these men but you didn't buy it. My pm flashy light would blink and I'd get a warning from you, watch out for him or be careful lol. And that made me feel really special that you cared that much about me. I think you always looked out for everyone's best interest on the forum. We had a fun time in the beginning especially when you would get cranky or act old (you're not even old) and lecture us "kids" about how things will never be the same and give us all your "take it from a guy who has lived in this neighborhood all his life" speech grin giggle. The best was when you'd ask a question about something techie and I'd reply to you with some off the wall answer and you would ALMOST fall for it. Aha ha ha like the time I told you that you had to put not only a thumb print but YOUR TOE PRINT on your iPhone 6 lmao. lol Ha ha ha ha you almost fell for it. I was on the floor laughing so hard. Lol

But, then the forum became a very dramatic and dark place with a lot of jealousy and hate. I would have to witness these terrible trolls attack you and that would break my heart. And the worst was that Jack B. I wanted to fly over to wherever that Hacker Jacker lived and ring that guy's neck. I still do. I kept telling you don't let that guy win. And you finally came to the realization that he was never going to leave you alone and you had to ignore him.

We had a few fights and arguments of our own during that time. But, we also had our own therapy sessions too. Either somebody was bothering me that day and you'd put up your psychologist sign to hear my problems or I'd listen to all the bullshit you had to deal with that day. No matter what, we always found time to be there for one another. And that is what friendship is all about. To think that a person can find a friend like you on a gangster forum of all places has to be the work of angels. smile

I don't think you realize how many members on this forum feel a very deep connection to you. It's your natural ability to write, get your message across in a way only the very best teachers and scholars can do. And the little jokes and all those silly smiley faces and puns you'd add would never go unnoticed. At times, you were a comedian.

You not only took valuable time out of your day to post to give us a front seat to a life we could never see. But you would go one step further by taking pm's and answering questions making each and every one of us feel like our question was most important to you. The respect and courtesy you would give to the members showed everyone that you are ALL CLASS. Always a gentleman. Sometimes cranky, but always so courteous. And I will miss you so much. cry This forum will NEVER be the same without you. Love you, 57. Oh excuse me, Almost 58. Giggle

You know I've never had any interactions with Pizzaboy at all (I didn't join until after he quit posting) but I've read a lot of his old posts and this guy was a great poster. Him and HairyKnuckles stood out immediately as two posters on here who knew their stuff. Obviously Pizzaboy had some connection to someone or more than one person in LCN (I think he admits as much in his posts) which made his posts really good. For someone like me who lives in Ohio and has never met anyone remotely connected to OC because some clown at work who claims he is Joe Masseria's great grandson, it was really cool to read from a poster who has firsthand knowledge. I think everyone can agree that you need to take things from some people with a grain of salt on here but you could tell Pizzaboy was the real thing. It is a shame he is not going to post anymore or on hiatus but you have to respect the reasononing he stated for it, if nothing else.

Thank you all so much for the kind words. In a strange way this has brought me some additional closure more than a year after my Dad's passing. And the reason for that was, as my dearest friend as well as being my Dad, I spoke about him here often and with great affection. I love this board. I always have and I always will. And I'll be by to post now and again. Because it feels right now. Like I have his blessing. The Angel on my shoulder.

Love you guys,

Pizzaboy

Pizzaboy, welcome back, I am so extremely sorry for your dad...I think you said time ago, before the absence period, that he got a little better, so it's very sad and unexpected....Losing a parent is one of the most hurtful things in the world, so I would like to express my sincere condolences, even though my words can't help apart from moral support...I hope that you will be ok at least physically, in good health, and I personally hope (without starting a debate about religions) that there is an after-world for the souls and that your dad is there now and will always be watching you and that we all will be able to eventually see again the people who were close to us.

Glad to see you post again, PB. I lost my pops as a young man and it never gets easier, you only learn more ways to cope. Regardless, it's good to see you back. I won't lie I've definitely looked up some of your older posts during my slower days at work.

Glad your back PB, youre a good person and, believe me, I know exactly what your going through... People do start saying, naturally, after a short while that time is a healer etc, and they mean well. Ive learned that (eventually) it is honestly true. Its still cold comfort in any case, but you just keep have to keep moving forward.

My best wishes to you my man, keep your head up and stay strong.
