I guess it came out looking more like gravy than sauce this time even without the braciole.

Hop Hunter IPA pickled sweet and hot peppers

I used green and red for the sweet and jalapeno and habanero for the spicy

Very nice, looks great Dude.

Wish I had them for the Sausage & Peppers I am making tonight.

The peppers are from my garden, I will try to remember to take a pic.

Yum. Sausage and peppers. JalepeƱo and hab peppers too. Good stuff. Try the serrano pepper, one of my favorites.

No pics, bummer. I am craving bread now.

Do New Yorkers eat Mexican food? In Jersey I have eaten at a few Mexican restaurants but their salsa is too weak for me. Food tastes so-so.

AG, I love Rosa Mexicano on 1st avenue in the 50's. Best Guacamole in New York. There are a lot of delicius Mexican restaurants and Tex Mex restaurants in NYC.

Imagine that, eating Mexican food in NY. Cool. I took a look at that menu and the selections look delicious! That is definitely different than what we eat here. Abuelita (Grandma) would not be able to serve her menudo, pozole or las sopas to the NY people, they want more variety, not the traditional stuff. Interesting...thnx for sharing.

Just walked past this place ( Rosa mex) - but the one on 18th St. off 5th , I think it was 18th St.

I wanted to go but let someone else decide.

We went several blocks away, further up 5th Ave.

Across from Ben & Jacks Steakhouse is a little place called L&W Oyster Co.
Great food, everything was outstanding.

I'm have never been a Chipolte customer. However, why is it so disparaged? I usually keep up with news of all types, but for the life of me, I don't know the answer to my question. If any Board members have kept up with it, will you enlighten me?

IIRC, They had a rash of e coli break outs at several franchises all in a short period of time and never really seemed to recover from the bad PR.

They lost a lot of business over it in some areas.

I never particularly liked them. But my oldest son still buys them.

Board members, what brand olive oil do you use that you trust is all EV olive oil?

I'm having a hell of a time finding one that I can trust. I've been using Bellalucci.

Dude, you live in NY but you buy Cali olive oil? I've never tried it.

Every time I go to the regular market I look over the bottles and not ONE says the oil is strictly just from Italy. It comes from a blend from a variety of countries, Greece, Spain, Tunisia etc. I curse under my breath every time. So I go over to Traders and they have one that's strictly made from Italy. That's the one I buy. Olivant, do you have a Trader Joe's by you? Try theirs.

My daughter bought me an olive oil from Eataly for Christmas but I haven't tried it yet. I don't know why but I don't like Mario Batali and feel like a trendy person if I crack open that bottle tongue But I'm sure it will be good.

FYI- An acquaintance of mine has a brother who works for Traders up in Washington. The guy is Sicilian and he's responsible for all the Italian frozen and refrigerated packaged foods they sell on their shelves. He's a chef and those are his recipes. I've only had a couple, one being chicken Marsala or something like that. Well, that's his recipe. Pretty tasty for a prepackaged meal.

I live in Texas.

Bellucci label states that it all comes from a variety of Italian vinyards. I'll stick with it for now, but check out Traders.

Yeah sold in my local market. Usually buy local or USA since olives don't usually grown in NY I buy get that brand, nonGMO organic.

I stopped getting Italian olive oil after I saw an article about this scandal on the forum a while back

Olive trees are messy. We used to have a couple in our front yard here in Cali. Never did anything with the olives though.

Well, you figure California does grow some of the best fruits and veggies (and weed.) The climate is similar to Italy so maybe Cali olive oils will taste close enough. smile

Sounds like a nice place to live, minus the weed I am anti drug and highly offended by the thought of it smile

When researching olive oil, I discovered that California has quite a large olive oil industry and that its oil is pretty much trusted.

I can't tell if you're joking or not about the herb part. California is a beautiful state. If I could live closer to the beach I would be in heaven cool
