I've got a question regarding the Paulie vs Ralphie sit down.
This is the one I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH1E_Fk6ixY#t=116.640208

Now, if Ralphie and Paulie were already on bad terms then, as we know, why the fuck would Paulie give Ralphie the tip and expect him to take Little Paulie along?

Nobody ever confused Paulie for being a Phi Beta Kappa.

Yeah always wondered why Paulie passed the tip down the line to Ralphie and his crew, when he hated his success as much as he did.

Agreed. I would add this. Paulie only talked tough when it was to guys beneath him (Christopher, Little Paulie, etc.). But look how he backed off to guys like Ralphie & Richie. He needed to hide behind Tony when confronting capos and especially consiglieries/bosses.

Yeah, but that still doesn't mean it makes sense Paulie would give the tip to Ralphie. Why not just do the score using his own guys? Was it the writer's choice to make the beef between the two of them to keep it interesting?

Especially considering earlier in the episode, Ralphie sits down for coffee with Silvio and Paulie. Ralphie brags about the job, and Paulie points out that the job was pulled in Paulie's territory.

This is just like the situation with Tony Bananas and Funzi Tieri.

Tony ruled in Ralph's favor to tax Paulie for screwing things up with the Russian.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

Agree. Pauly would have never ran any job with that POS

Paulie would never have to do this or would do it.
