Two full members of the Saskatoon Hells Angels and the president of the Fallen Saints (FS) motorcycle club are among the 14 men arrested by police Wednesday morning in one of the province's largest drug raids.

Hells Angels members Terry Eide and Rob Allen and FS president Mark Nowakowski were taken into custody after RCMP, in conjunction with local police forces, raided 19 locations in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

RCMP said $8 million worth of drugs were seized as a result of an investigation that started in 2013, dubbed 'Project Forseti.'

In Saskatoon, nine homes and two businesses were targeted. Officers also went to a home in Star City, Sask. and businesses in Melfort and Nipawin, Sask. as well as two homes in Warman, Sask.

In Alberta, police raided two homes in Red Deer and searched a vehicle in Calgary.

Both Eide and Allen face charges of drug trafficking while Nowakowski faces charges of aggravated assault.

According to the release, the investigation ramped up on Jan. 6 after police in Burnaby, B.C. seized two pill presses, commonly associated with manufacturing ecstasy as well as fentanyl, a drug used to make fake OxyContin tablets that have been linked to at least three deaths in Saskatoon.

Police report that they became aware of the presses in B.C. following two of the deaths in Saskatoon in September 2014. 3,358 fentanyl tablets seized as a result of the raids are reported to have the same chemical make-up as the pills linked to the deaths.

Detective Inspector Jerome Engele said Saskatoon is a lucrative city for drug dealers and other criminals because the public is not very cautious.

"(The public are) using illegal drugs, they're using cocaine and these aren't little street people making mistakes. These are some of our so called better business men. They are aiding this crime by buying the product," Engele said. "By the way, we're watching. They'll all end up in jail one day."




Names of people charged

Police listed 14 people who have been charged so far in connection to Project Forseti. Thirteen of them appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday morning. One is due to appear at a date to be determined.

They face charges ranging from drug trafficking and weapons charges to assault and possessing proceeds of crime. Several are either members of, or affiliated with, the Fallen Saints motorcycle club, which police describe as a puppet club of the Hells Angels that formed last summer.

Engele said some of the assault charges stem from an incident in Prince Albert.

"In an amount of 30 to 50 members just showed up in P.A. as a result of an assault in a bar in P.A. They showed up to show their force and that they are going to own these places. They don't. We, the public, own the places, and we the police will enforce the laws," he said.

Engele said their investigation continues and there will be more arrests and charges.

In the US biker gangs and especially the level of sophistication of the criminal activities they conduct seem to be on the decline. But in Canada the Hells Angels are nothing to mess with.

Well I think in some provinces they have been able to get them designated as crime orgnatiobs and actually seized their clubhouses and stuff. But here in SK too like they can't wear their colors in bars. But yea they are a presence and there are new biker groups coming in to because it is sort of a boom period

There are a lot of drugs here too though. For the size of the market it seems quite large.

Hells Angels still openly operate in NY. At least to my knowledge. They still have their clubhouse here in Hempstead, and recently renovated it, before it looked dead with this huge fence around it, and the same outside decals for years and years. But there's now a huge 3d cast flaming skull head atop the garage way, which you can see over the big fence. It looks cleaner and the decals on the outside of the building are new. They still do "fundraisers" and all that sort that they only advertise on their website. I don't know about them being a criminal organization, but as far as just operating, they're still here, in Long Island anyways.

The number of people arrested in New Brunswick following raids on the Hells Angels and associates in NB and Quebec is now nine. Seven of them appeared in court in Bathurst on Wednesday morning.

The accused come from Allardville, in the Chaleur region, the Acadian Peninsula and Miramichi.

Four of them first appeared. They are John Watson, Eric Doucet, Jason Poirier and Daniel Duguay. They face charges related to the possession of narcotics - particularly cocaine - for the purpose of trafficking. They were released pending their next appearance on May 28.

Three others followed: Eric Degrace, Marcel Friolet and Danny Smith. They face eight charges. The Crown opposed their release. They will be appearing again in the next few days for a bail hearing.

The accused are among the 64 people arrested in Quebec and New Brunswick during a series of raids carried out by the Sûreté du Québec and the RCMP on Tuesday.

The RCMP says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made.

In November 2016, police began investigating cocaine trafficking on the Acadian Peninsula and in Restigouche, Madawaska and Victoria Counties. The investigators concluded that the drug came from the Hells Angels in Quebec.

The men arrested on Tuesday are not members of the Hells Angels, but the police believe they have links to criminal biker gangs in New Brunswick and Quebec.

The RCMP investigation, to which the Edmundston police force collaborated, was conducted at the same time as the Sûreté du Québec, but these were two separate investigations. Both police services collaborated by exchanging information.

The arrest of nine people with alleged links to the Hells Angels in northern New Brunswick this week will not have a major impact on drug trafficking in the region, according to an expert on criminal bikers .

Nine New Brunswickers were arrested for drug trafficking on Tuesday as part of a Hells Angels investigation. One of those arrested is a teacher at École Place-des-Jeunes in Bathurst.

Members of the Rock Machine, the group of bikers once sworn enemies of the Hells Angels, say they want to make a comeback in Quebec even if the police give them little credibility.

A few dozen people gathered on June 23 in Saint-Dominique, not far from Saint-Hyacinthe, on a property where a Rock Machine flag had been erected.

During his visit, the representative of the Journal observed a dozen people wearing jackets with the colors of the gang, which has been virtually removed from the map in recent years. Some were marked "Prospect" or "Probationnary" and some "Nomads" or "Canada".

"You just have one thing to know is that Rock Machine is alive," said a biker with a scarf to hide his face. He then demanded that Le Journal leave the premises.

EXCLUSIVE- A new bikers club-school is now taking over the Hells Angels in Outaouais, according to what Radio-Canada has learned. According to our sources, this is the Devils Ghosts â„¢. Two other groups of Hells Angels supporters have also appeared in the region and will be meeting at the La Tasca restaurant-bar in Gatineau on September 15th.

The Ghost Devils â„¢ were founded by Salvatore Cazzetta, considered by our police sources as one of the most influential members of the Hells Angels in Quebec.

Several police operations have led to seizures of firearms and drugs in the biker group's premises in the past, in the Montreal area and in the Estrie region, among others.

According to our sources, the arrival of the Devils Ghost â„¢ in the Outaouais signals the Hells Angels' desire to secure their grip on the region, territory left vacant after the departure of the Red Devils â„¢, now confined to the Ontario shore.

The information obtained by Radio-Canada indicates that the Devils Ghost â„¢ do not have an official place in the Outaouais for the moment.

In addition to the Outaouais, this group of bikers has sections in Sherbrooke, north of Montreal and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.


Moreover, two groups of bikers sympathetic to the Hells Angels also appeared in the Outaouais: The Devil's Call â„¢, based in Gatineau, and Marginal TM Outaouais. Supporting the Hells Angels is not illegal and wearing their emblem either.

Radio-Canada has learned that a first meeting between the Devil's Call â„¢ groups and the Marginal â„¢ will be held on September 15th at the Resto-Bar La Tasca in Gatineau. An announcement to this effect has been posted on Facebook.

Since surviving a murder attempt in 2007, psychologists have diagnosed him with post-traumatic stress disorder with panic attacks.
Here is an enumeration of his symptoms: anxiety, hypervigilance, depression, agoraphobia, insomnia, repeated nightmares, loss of libido and difficulty concentrating.
"He says himself and seems completely exhausted", does "very little activity" and seems "unable to function", according to the psychologist who followed him between 2012 and 2013.
After his arrest, he unsuccessfully asked a judge to release him on bail, arguing that his "medical condition" prevented him from remaining in prison.
