Are any of you fans of Alita: Battle Angel? I love it. I'm hoping they'll produce a 2nd movie.

I saw it in the theater. It wasn't bad but I didn't leave overly impressed. Heard there's a social media campaign going around trying to get a sequel made.

It's so bad. I'm getting on Facebook less because of the toxicity on there. I'm just tuning everything out as well DP.

I've been occupying myself the same, just on YouTube a little more and Facebook a little less.

Last night HBO debuted I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK. a 6-part miniseries about the Golden State killer from the 1970's and 80's. Good stuff so far! I've been getting more in to the true crime documentaries the last couple of years, so this is right up my alley.

Glad you liked it DP. Believe this was in my Top 10 for 2019. Didn't enjoy it as much the 2nd time around but it's still an enjoyable ride.

Like me, some of you may be fans of Hogan's Heroes reruns. Also like me, sometimes when watching a TV program you will notice something that is wrong with a scene or two. Well, I noticed a couple during two episodes of Hogan's Heroes.

In one scene, Colonel Hogan introduces himself as an officer in the US Air Force. Well, the US Air Force wasn't created until 1947, three years after the War ended and at least that long after the scene portrayed in that episode took place.

In another scene, a Nazi officer pulls down a wall map of Europe. The map illustrates East and West Germany which were allied and Soviet Union occupation zones established in 1945 AFTER the War ended.

I've never seen HOGAN'S HEROES but chalk this up to bloopers. Someone didn't do their homework for these episodes.

This maybe belongs better with music: a tiny subchannel network called GetTV has the old Johnny Cash Show from the early 70s. Two hours starting at 10 PM on Saturday/Sunday nights. Right now's an all-Gospel show with Mahalia Jackson, Staple Singers and the Oak Ridge Boys just before they crossed over to country. Everyone in music in that era was a guest on the show.

The Hogan's Heroes Chick Ranker:

Secretaries:

1. Cynthia Lynn: Helga
2. Sigrid Valdis: Hilda

Oddly, Sigrid was on the show as a different character before returning as Hilda, while Cynthia was on the show a couple times as different characters after leaving as Helga.

Guest stars:

1. Celeste Yarnell: Wilhemina/Nanny
2. Victoria Vetri (Angela Dorian): Carla
3. Arlene Martel: Tiger/Olga/Gretchen
4. Claudine Longet: Michelle
5. Brenda Benet: Janine/Marie

6. Marianna Hill: Eskimo/Lousia
7. Sabrina Scharf: Inge/Luisa
8. Jean Hale: Kathy Pruitt

Bob Crane and Sigrid Valdis were sleeping together while Crane was still married. He was known to fool around with some of the actresses on set.

Blumhouse is hit and miss for me. They've entered into a deal to release 8 movies (4 this month and the other 4 in 2021) on Amazon Prime. Last week THE LIE and BLACK BOX were released, while this week we'll see NOCTURNE and EVIL EYE. I watched THE LIE and BLACK BOX this weekend. THE LIE wasn't bad. Decent enough to watch with a noticeable cast (Peter Sarsgaard and Joey King). The twist at the end was rather weak. In comparison, BLACK BOX was a somewhat cheap rip off of GET OUT without the racism. However, did not do as good of a job at holding my attention as THE LIE did. As for this week and based off of the trailers, I'm more interested in NOCTURNE than EVIL EYE.

There's some chance that there will be sequel to Alita: Battle Angel. I do hope so!

Also, I was reading about The Irishman and it stated that a good amount of the dialogue in it was ad-libbed.

Let us know how you like the book olivant. I wouldn't mind reading it and I am curious how faithful the movie is to it.

Watched NOCTURNE and EVIL EYE this week. Again, not bad from Blumhouse but definitely not films worthy enough for theatrical release. I'll catch the next 4 that are offered next year out of curiosity but I'm expecting the same level of quality. I'd rank them from best to worst: NOCTURNE, THE LIE, EVIL EYE, BLACK BOX.

THE QUEEN'S GAMBIT was good. Worth checking out but probably not revisiting. Good soundtrack and performance by Anya Taylor-Joy.

Currently watching True Detective for the first time. Halfway through season 1. It's very good.

Tried watching Justified. First episode didn't pull me in.

The first season of TRUE DETECTIVE is by far the best. Season 2 was rushed and as such, missed. Season 3's alright but again, 1 was where it's at.

I just saw the first episode of Kaley Cuoco's The Flight Attendant on HBO. Not bad. Am looking forward to the next episode.

That's on my list olivant. Disappointed HBO Max doesn't release all the episodes at once so you can bing them. They released 3 episodes, then they'll release another 2, then 2 more before the series finale. They do the same thing with THE MANDOLORIAN on Disney+ but I understand that: they want people to subscribe to the service so they slowly drip out the episodes to keep viewers. Just another reason I love Netflix: they release the entire season at once so you can watch it on your time.
