Apparently, it has become standard practice for the networks offer a 10/90 deal if they think that a show has a certain minimum opportunity for success. I've watched the first three episodes, but I don't think I'll be watching any more.

I always found Martin Lawrence abysmal.

Grammer deserves a better foil.

Lawrence does not stimulate my appetite for more of him. He's more like a placeholder.

Two random thoughts:

1st. Did anyone watch all seasons of "True Blood?" I did not watch the last two seasons. However, I tuned in to the last ten minutes of the series finale. Did Bill die? And if so how? I was surprised at the family picnic ending. Then again, I haven't been watching for two seasons.

2nd. I am pissed that The Walking Dead is not up for any major emmys. It's only nominations are for Sound editing and special/visual effect. The show is well written, well acted and deserves more. The writing is great and Andrew Lincoln (aka Rick Grimes) heads an excellent cast and deserves a win IMHO. I love that show!! smile

Btw, most of the emmys nominations are for cable tv shows,.

Hi there TIS.

Unfortunately, I did waste my time watching it all. grin Bill got Hep B virus and was dying. There was a cure and he refused to take it, because he wanted to die, because otherwise he would end up with Sookie and he didn't want that for her. He wanted her to have children and family. He also asked Sookie to kill him with her light, presumably if she did, then she would have used all her fairy juice. (I'm not sure on this one) She ended up driving a stake into his heart, when he liad in his empty coffin beside the graves of the rest of his family. We don't know the guy she ended up with, apparently that was not important. Jessica and Hoyt got married before Bill killed himself, Bill gave her away and made sure Andy would rent his estate to them for almost nothing.

I never got into the walking dead, thank goodness. Watched the first episode, and didn't care for it. tongue

Afs,

Thanks for the True Blood finale explanation. I don't know why but am surprised that Bill was gone. I liked the show in the beginning but it got too far out there for my taste.

But, Walking Dead, I have to disagree. I love that show. Gotta say tho, the genre is probably not appealing to everyone. To each his own. wink

Facing formidable preseason Monday Night Football on ESPN and a rising Hotel Hell on Fox last night, FX’s Partners fell to its lowest result yet last night. Make that limbo lows for the struggling Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence sitcom. In its third week, the 10/90 series from Lionsgate TV and Debmar-Mercury drew just 380,000 total viewers for its 9 PM broadcast and 450,000 for its 9:30 PM airing. That’s a drop of 55% among total viewers from last week’s 9 PM show and 36% from the 9:30 PM. Among adults 18-49 Partners had 125,000 for its first show fx_connectedlast night and 178,000 for its second. That’s a stone cold 72% drop from its 9PM August 11 airing and a 46% fall from last week’s 9:30 PM show.

Joan Rivers has reportedly been put on life support
Aug. 30, 2014, 6:31 PM EST By Sadie Gennis

Joan Rivers has been put on life support, TMZ reports.

According to sources, the comedian's family maintains faith in Rivers' ability to bounce back even if they decide to turn off the machines. They still have a few days to make a decision whether or not they will take Rivers off life support.

That's the thing about surgery at that age. My Dad is getting a hernia removed this week. He's almost 85, and even though it's a "routine" surgery, I'll be a nervous wreck all week.

Pour yourself a nice scotch on the rocks. Take a deep breath and relax. They wouldn't recommend surgery at his age if they didn't think he was strong and healthy enough to do so. He is probably strong as an ox, he will do just fine.

Tonight I'm looking forward to watching the History channel mini series on Houdini starring Adrien Brody who grew up in Woodhaven, Queens. Looks very entertaining. Anybody else going to watch it?

I'll watch it because Houdini has always fascinated me. And I guess Brody is a good actor because he won an Academy Award and all. But he's about as ugly a leading man as I've ever seen. He's as homely for an actor as Sarah Jessica Parker is for an actress. And that's really saying something lol.

Thanks for mentioning this, Brody is great and Houdini is one of my favourite figures from the 20th century. In my opinion the best thing about Houdini wasn't his tricks or escapes, but his crusade against blatant frauds using tricks he easily had at his disposal to suck money from vulnerable people who were grieving.

I know alot of people will have very valid critiscms of him, but i think James Randi is a good successor, even though he's more like a poster boy nowadays. Randis exposal of Peter Popoff in particular should've amounted to more than it did, i've noticed more than one people say on this site and others that certain people give religion in this case Christianity a bad name and Popoff has to be near the top.

A few of Randis videos if anyones interested -

(this is just a short exerpt, if you want to see the full thing type in "Randi exposes Popoff")

(Another short part just type in "James randi Hydrick" for the full video)

Also a popular "psychic" who Randi always clashed with, the music is not right but it was the only decent copy of it i could find. -

There's no blame to your mum they are all talented, and their shows are unbelievably EDITED and audience members are recorded before the show.

Here's a funny vid exposing the sorts you'd find in the phonebook (whoever uses them amirite? :p) .

Save yourself the hassle and dont show it to any fan of hers, trust me wink. Beliefs are the main source of stubborn behaviour in my experience, my own Stubborness (is that a word?)is usually the result of my beliefs clashing with others. I'd imagine most would agree with that. Unless they don't believe in imagination of course tongue.

I am so glad that you are also interested in the Houdini mini series. I like how you brought up the fact that he was against frauds. Can't wait to discuss the series with you if you will be up to it.

Great post and videos thanks for sharing. It's sickening what some people will do for money.

My Mom and aunt have always gone to mediums and have convinced my sister to do so too. I think it's all a crock of shit.

Yes the scene with Pentangeli who arranged a meeting with the Rosato brothers. At the meeting, Tony Rosato ambushes Pentangeli with a garotte, telling him, "Michael Corleone says hello." A policeman passes by and the attack degenerates into a shootout in the street. Pentangeli disappears and is believed to be dead.
