So I am reading Deal With The Devil, a 2nd time. It makes DeVecchio look real bad. Do you believe he gave Scarpa info on his rivals? I know he got off, but it looks like to me, that he was real dirty. And did in fact give Scarpa that info.

What would be his motivation for doing so? Just advance his career? Very interesting story.

On a side note, I saw the screen writer for Casino and Goodfellas has written a script for a Gregory Scarpa Sr. Movie. The bad part is they want to get Sylvester Stallone to play him. Producers from expendables is in as well. I think Josh Brolin would be a better fit for Scarpa.

According to his 60 minutes tape didn't he considered Scarpa his friend! Who would want a friend like that?

DeVecchio owes Tom Robbins his fucking life. There's no way of proving it, of course. But I honestly believe the Bureau got Robbins to come forward with that old Schiro interview to force a mistrial and save face. Because that tape had been floating around for like ten years at that point. These agents take care of their own. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, I think it was both of them. Those guys are both seriously tied into the bureau. They've been known to do favors. George Anastasia is close with a lot of agents, too.

And I don't want to derail the thread with a different argument. But that's why I think Capeci started that bullshit this week about Amuso still being the boss. To shake the tree and get people talking as a favor to the Feds.

for me, it's an astonishing mystery that DeVeccio is still allowed to walk as a free man. There is more than enough evidence by now that he's a lying piece of ****. Def. should be in Jail!
