I can believe it, 22. It's amazing how many middle aged white collar types love to live vicariously through guys like Joey. Makes them feel tough wink .

All my married friends tell me they live vicariously through me. Only things that different from them is that I don't have to call anyone to say I'm going out for a beer and I go home to an empty bed :-)

Yeah PB I hear you,I think it has come full circle with Joey,at one time the younger guys idolized him [George Anastasia used to call them ''sychophants'' something like that]they always paid his way and now like you say the older guys probably do it too.LeBron James just got most popular athelete,I think Joey would run away with the most popular mobster award.

Actually I'd guess none of the Scarfo guys feel this way about him at all.

He was always just Chuckie's son and they all went away when Joey was in his early 20's, when he was just a kid to them.

Phil said he would have killed him himself if he wasn't Chuckie's son so that gives you an idea what they thought of him and how he behaved.

Albert lancelotti married this weekend... A lot of guys there. No sign of Georgie anywhere.

Possible rift? Seems like Georgie has been shut out. Haven't seen or heard anything out of him.

He's not allowed to associate with mobsters, terms of his parole.

Honestly you guys, possible rift? Maybe for once the Philly group are using better judgment. Can you imagine George requesting "special permission" to attend the wedding of known associate/ member? C'mon even the newbies should be able to figure this out.

Exemptions are usually only given if a family member or really close friend is getting married (or dies).

And even then it's not guaranteed. It really depends on the PO's recommendation. The Judge will normally go by what he reads in the report. So be nice to your PO lol.

I know what you mean, 22. But I'm trying to picture an old timer like Carlo Gambino or even a Vince Gigante living in the age of message boards. And reading that Joey Merlino was just voted "most popular gangster." lol lol

And the ultimate irony is, Joey isnt even a gangster anymore.

Anyone who thinks he's checking his PO box for his kick as baws, whilst living off the perks off wannabee's, well, Joeys the only one laughing at that....

Joey may be many things. But he's done a 10 stretch and he loves the sun FAR to much to go back inside.

Joeseph Merlino in the 90's was a Philly heavy.

Those days are over.

MORGAN: Why didn't you fight him at the park if you wanted to? I'm not goin' now, I'm eatin' my snack.
CHUCKIE: Morgan, Let's go.
MORGAN: I'm serious Chuckie, I ain't goin'.
WILL: So don't go.

And thats the point.

See the reason Joey didnt get done by Nicky Skins ISNT because he has this super rat detector machine, hell, Nicky was an old timer in the game longer than joey was alive, if you cant trust him...

He didnt get done because he's OUT.

People think he's a super gangster with a nose for a rat and a Fed.

He's an EX gangster who lives in Florida off his rep.

Thats Joey. Not a boss, a guy who did time and now chooses the sun over iron bars.

For once he's playing the right card. Philly lovers cant change that.

Joey is smarter than people give him credit for, and he did have a pretty good nose for a rat. Skins tried to set him up, as well as that fat fuck Previte tried several times to get him on tape and couldn't.

And where is your information coming from that Joey is retired and no longer the boss when the last piece of information that was out there from the La Griglia tapes is that he was boss. Are you saying he went through all of that, just to retire as soon as he got out of jail.

I cannot stand when people pull shit out of their ass and state it as fact when all you are doing is making an assumption. Nothing more, nothing less.

I've seen the Salvo brothers mentioned a bit in connection with Borgesi. I know David Salvo used to run a restaurant in Mannyunk and now down the shore. Was this guy inactive throughout Borgesis incarceration? I know he was uncle joe's bodyguard years ago. Is he a big deal these days or just a hanger-on type?

Has Borgesi been to Margate yet this Summer?

Surely that would be an accident waiting to happen if he "accidentally" bumped into a known associate. That would put him right back in stir.

Didn't Skins only get made in the late 90's/early 2000's?

According to all the articles yes, but he was a north jersey player for 40 years. Did alot of jail time and was with the luchese jersey faction and had to switch.

Alot of times wont the feds wait until right when your about to get off supervised and they hold a hearing citing you for all the times you associated and throw you back in the bing?

Yeah, the Feds are famous for that. But the State does the same thing if they have a hard-on for you.

And THATS the thing.

See you're assuming as much as I am. There's as much evidence that Merlino is still boss as that he's retired. Apart from ONE off the cuff remark 5 years ago there is ZERO evidence that Merlino is boss. ZERO.

Now what do YOU think is more logical, that Merlino's a super boss the likes LCN has never seen and smarter than EVERYONE? Or MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, when the guy walked out of prison after doing a dime n change decided he'd rather live his days getting a tan and living of his rep in BOCA?

So who's talking out of their ass now pal?

Joey may very well get locked up again for past deeds but it won't be for hanging out at the Delano, driving a leased SUV or posting selfies, now if Nicodemo or some other Philly wise guy flips then thats another story. I can't imagine Julie Brown writing another story on Joey after the last gossip piece she put out there and Joey calling her up and setting her straight. I think we can count on Schwratwieser printing something about Joey during the next Neilsen sweeps week in August, and I heard that Jose Lambiet is considering having sex with a woman in exchange for an exclusive on Joey's appearance at The Sons of Italy fundraiser on 26th. Here's a recap of what we know for sure so far tongue smile
