I think the Rizzuto revenge theory is a viable one. I just posted the stuff below word for word on another forum:

More on Cordeleone. He was associated with the Cotroni's as well as Giuseppe DeVito who was an open enemy to the Rizzuto's particularly Francesco Arcadi. DeVito is in jail but was recently placed in protective custody due to threats on his life. Interestingly this happened very close to the time Vito Rizzuto was released.

There is a lot of information to suggest that DeVito and people close to him were were some of the first to declare war on the Rizzuto's after Vito Rizzuto was extradited to the USA. A close ally of DeVito's Sergio Piccirilli actually had a hit man trailing Nick Sr and they had him lined up in the Cosenza Social club but Piccirilli put the hit on hold saying he had to get approval from Ontario. Piccirilli was seen meeting with Paulo Violli son's just prior to this.

The carnage continues in the Montreal Mafia. Man found dead about 9:30 am in a luxury SUV parked by the curb Sauriol, in Ahuntsic is Cordileone Emilio, 50, told La Presse.

Reportedly, the man was seen for the last time last Thursday in Little Italy. Cordileone is known to police and is linked to the Italian mafia. However, it has no criminal record, if it is not an offense under the Income Tax Act to which he was sentenced to $ 250 in 1988.

According to our sources, the man who owned shops including restaurants, have been involved in the drug trade.

"The victim has serious injuries. There is talk of marks of violence on the upper body, "said the spokesman of the Montreal police, Dany Richer.

According to our information, the victim's body lay at the back of the vehicle. It was considered "interest" by the SPVM from the reporting of the disappearance of the victim said Thursday. These are police officers who were patrolling the area, which made the gruesome discovery.

The police should not rule out any hypothesis, ranging from simple settling of a crime that is more in the power struggle that shook the mafia three years or revenge.

A troubled past

Emilio's uncle Mark Cordileone, owner and director of QV's bar at 6075 Belanger Street in Saint-Léonard. This place, which was considered by the investigators to the anti-mafia Coliseum as a place controlled by the boss Giuseppe DeVito, was the scene of a murder at the end of last August. Masked gunmen had burst and there were two people injured. Moez Ben Ali bin Zaid had passed away a few days later, while Marco Lafratta, director of coffee, had survived despite two balls received in the abdomen and arm. A struggle for territory for drug trafficking could be the motive.

In February 2005, the father of Emilio Cordileone, Domenico, was abducted for at least a week, probably for a case of drug debt. This would include doing business with an individual of Colombian origin who later became one of the leaders of the Cali cartel. The two men lived nearby LaPlaine, north of Montreal.

Cordileone father is originally from the region of Campobasso, Italy. He also owns a popular restaurant on Saint-Laurent was sold recently. According to our information, it was very close to the influential Calabrian Moreno Gallo deported from Canada for serious criminality there almost a year.

In 2006, Emilio Cordileone was part of a group of company directors pursued by the Autorité des marchés financiers for embezzling their profit investments investors. The case had been much ink, the main defendants in this case where 1.7 million were claimed were IONIAN Financial Group and its main leader, Efstratios Gavriil. Cordileone had settled the case out of court with prosecutors, so it is impossible to know what was the nature of his involvement in the case.

In a court document, Mr. Emilio Cordileone Gavriil accused him extorting large sums and? Have served relay with Vito Rizzuto, according to a Gazette article from 2004.

In 1994, La Presse recounted's brother Emilio, Dino Cordileone, was sentenced 23 months in prison for organizing a bomb attack against a factory that competed Friends of Saint-Léonard, in exchange for $ 15,000. Domenico, then aged 55, was then described as a loyal partner of Frank Cotroni, head of the Calabrian clan.

Extreme tension

The murder of Emilio Cordeleone is only the latest in a long series of murders linked to organized crime Italian arise during recent years in the streets of the metropolis. The frequency of these events appear? S be accelerated since the return home of Vito Rizzuto, the godfather of the Montreal Mafia assumed.

There is barely a month, one of the most influential members of the underworld was run in the parking lot of his residence in Blainville. Joe di Maulo, 70, was regarded as a counselor and a mediator of the Sicilian clan leaders. He was also the brother of the boss Raynald Desjardins, accused of killing the mobster Salvatore Montagna, in November 2011, Charlemagne. Desjardins had himself been the victim of an assassination attempt two months ago.

Mid-November, close to the Italian mafia named Mohamed Awada, 47, was shot dead near his home in Montreal North.

The murder of Emilio Cordileone is the 33rd to be committed this year in Montreal.
