i think ohio is decent. but, yea they caught penn state off guard with it being the first game since the sanctions went down. honestly i was rooting for them because of a lot of people wanted the school (and community) to die.

Things are going to get worse for Penn State before they get better. They're losing more and more commitments since the sanctions were announced.

A friend of my son, who is a high school senior, had committed to PSU as a linebacker before the scandal was publicized. While originally planning to stay committed to PSU after the sanctions, this week he's committing to Oregon. As he's seen others from the recruiting class slowly drop, he figured this is the best move for him.

that's true. it will take years for them to regain the top talent recruits. it still baffles me that it took months for the ncaa to ban penn state for something that isn't really football related, but take years to do something with miami university (also usc and ohio state).

I heard on the radio this morning that there is a new record for points spread - 70 pts. Florida State is giving 70 pts to Savannah St. Sounds outrageous? Savannah St lost to Oklahoma St last week. 84-0.

I think its disgraceful that Division 1A (FBS) will schedule games with weak Division 1AA (FCS) teams; then their records look good. Some FCS teams are good and occasionally upset a big school, like Appalachain State beating Michigan a few years ago, but Appalachain St was known to be a quality team. William and Mary almost beat Maryland last week, but Maryland is weak.

the bigger schools do this to start the season off on the right foot and use it as a 'preseason'. for some teams, it works out great. others...well just like michigan, cost a seaason or more, and a coach's job.

its probably tougher for the coach. do you hold a open invite to those on campus to be the team's kicker. or try, and make this kid feel better and tell there is always next week?
