She was not only beautiful, but she had just about the best body around.

You have about ten years on me, Oli. But as a boy growing up in the '60s, my first crushes were Jeannie, Laura Petrie and Marlo Thomas on "That Girl."

I still have impure thoughts lol.

People who jump up and down and act stupid on game shows really need to be lined up and shot. Just a casual observation.

I recently saw (on tv) "The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" (the one with James Franco.) I actually thought it was pretty good. Now, is see previews of the new one (Title escape me) and that looks pretty good too.

Watched some film with my son last night, you may all have heard of it. The Godfather!!! It was about these Italian folks and it was pretty good. Had some good actors in it as well, Marlon Dando, Al Perchino, Rupert Dougall and James Khan (but he didnt look very Pakistani)

Anyways, worth a watch. Quite a famous film by all accounts.....

I've heard about it. I also heard that it wasn't that good, so they remade it twice more.

Hey Oli,

I just watched the episode where Opie was influenced by the spoiled kid on the bicycle. Classic episode. Every time I watch Opie throw a tantrum and hold his breath I fall off the couch laughing. Or when Barney sticks out his tongue at the little kid and says ynaaaaaaah lol lol.

At the end, the kid's father implies that he's taking him out to the wood shed for a whipping. I'll bet you couldn't get that on television today because of political correctness.

Also, it would probably violate some CPS statute.

Taking him to the woodshed is one thing, but if I remember the episode correctly, Andy, the chief law enforcement official in the town, laughs and tells the dad where he can find an appropriate stick (perhaps a switch), with which to beat the boy. Now that's just plain wrong. smile

Of course, Klyd smile.

Do you remember the episode where Opie's friend slept over and Opie got jealous because the boy was going to sleep in Andy's room with Andy?

I think Andy may have even mentioned the boy sleeping in his bed. Now it was a much different time, and it was surely innocent. But try getting that on television today wink.

Hey Oli,

You're an old Army man, right? How come Gomer wasn't put into the motor pool when he joined the Service? With a background as a mechanic, wouldn't that be almost automatic?

Well, I'm former Army(old?), not Marines. But remember that Gomer had, at most, less than two years of mechanic experience prior to his Marine induction. Thus, his mechanic experience was probably suspect. On the other hand, Marines are known for brawn, not brains!

My almost 85 year old father, who was decorated at the Chosin Reservoir, would probably disagree lol lol.

Well, Kelsey Grammar is giving it another post-Frasier shot at TV. He'll be on FX in Partners. This time he'll play a lawyer. We'll see.

Looks like that's attempt number four post-Frasier - Back to You (one season), Boss (two seasons), and Hank (1/2 season).

Which network canceled the Black Donnely's? It was a good show and could have gone on longer but the Sopranos was in its 6th season

Is anyone watching HBO's "The Leftovers?" Only 3 episodes so far. Kind of strange show.

I saw that is that the series where the whole Donnelly family may have been killed in car or a van including their mother in the last episode?

You can see the original series on Netflex

I'm sorry about Almost Human, which had an interesting premise and good acting. I thought Surviving Jack was hilarious.
