Also Oscar Niemeyer died on the 5th Dec and i notice SC and Mig have him on their list. Thanks, I've been trying to update the list but am currently getting a server error -- will try again later....

SV, I did some checking too and it appears to be a hoax. What a terrible thing to do. I am not a fan of Sandler's movies/comedy but certainly am glad it's not true. I can not believe anyone would start such a vicious story.  TIS

Senator Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) passed away December 17 at age 88.  The New York Times called him "Hawaii's quiet voice of conscience in the Senate." NY Times obituary Wikipedia article A huge loss to the political world; the long-serving Inouye was greatly respected by virtually everyone. Not sure if anyone had him on their list. Signor V.

I just heard that Charles Durning died. He was 89.
A damned fine actor, he'll be remembered as one of the better character actors of the era. My favorite role of his was in "The Choirboys", a better movie than it's usually reviewed.

His obit said he was a dance instructor as a young man. I loved the scene in "O Brother" where he comes dancing on the stage when the Soggy Bottom Boys are singing "Man of Constant Sorrow." Now I know why he looked to nimble in his dance routine.
