Is anyone watching this on Sunday evenings on HBO?
It's sort of like The Wire meets Rome.
Good stuff in my opinion. It's loosely influenced by The War of The Roses.

I watch parts of it from time to time - only minutes at a time. But so much of it is disgusting, especially parts of the dialogue. Gratuitous? For sure.

Yup. Much of the dialogue is taken direct from the book. Martin didn't hold back.

That's too bad. Perhaps when it comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD you can take a look. This series has real potential I think.

Families that are a bit too close, attempted murder of a child, actual murder of a child, clashes over proper gender roles, adultery, machinations for war, domestic abuse, revenge carried out under the banner of law, murder investigations in which the entire court had a motive-and that's just in the first four episodes... whistle

Th guy who plays Drogo has looked like a candidate for WWE from the very first episode, but this week he did a rant that rivaled anything Superstar Billy Graham did in the 70's. The actor who plays Drogo is Hawaiian-Caucasian and scored the role of Conan in the upcoming re-make of "Conan the Barbarian" . After offing Danerys' obnoxious brother in a most satifsying manner last week, Drogo amazingly topped himself this week.

He sure did do a great job. I've read the book and I like the casting for Drogo.

I wasn't sorry to see Viserys go. It was pretty funny in a sick way to me. Drogo shed no blood; he gave Viserys a splendid golden crown which men trembled to behold. rolleyes

Viserys never got the message that he wasn't running things. Too bad for him. I think just about everyone involved in this series is doing a great job, especially the younger actors.

This is a really great show. I went into this skeptical and on the fence. If you haven't seen this yet you are missing out on something extraordinary. If you want to get into this and you have HBO on demand, I suggest you watch the mini 3 - 7 minute extras detailing characters, scenes, etc...This will set the table for a great feast!
