I didn't think it'd be a blowout like everyone on TV seemed to but I did expect the defense to play and for the Colts to run the ball now and then.

My thoughts about this weekend's game.

Yes, Favre is amazing, and he keeps adding to his legend. But I was really impressed by their running back gaining 200 yards after coughing it up twice in the opening minutes and handing the Seahawks a 14 point lead.

New England against Jacksonville was men against boys. While the Jaguars kept the score close, the Patriots seemed to be in control throughout. I never felt that Jacksonville had a realistic chance to win.

Did the Chargers really beat the Colts without LT or Rivers. Manning was superb, but couldn't quite get it done in the last two drives. Rivers is an ass. He played well, but his emotion and temperment don't serve him well. Look for them to be devoured next Sunday.

Hats off to Tom Coughlin and the Giants. I thought Dallas didn't use Barber enough in the second half. I think Tony Romo is good, but hasn't shown that he's a big game QB. Eli played well , and the key to the game was driving for that TD in the final 53 seconds of the first half.

10 years ago, it was New England and Green Bay in the Super Bowl. Will we have a repeat?

By the way, I thought the officiating in the Chargers/ Colts game favored the Colts. The ticky tack holding call on the 2d quarter interception return, the phantom pass interference on the pass to Wayne, and a couple of others.

Too bad the refs couldn't play defense for us...

With the Colts & Cowboys gone, no team legitimately stands in the way of NE now. I don't see a banged up SD squad putting up much of a fight, nor do either of the NFC teams putting a fear into NE. I can't believe the frigging Giants won yesterday. That's what happens when TO & Crayton make key drops. Marion Barber played like a man possessed for Big D yesterday.

In my opinion, only the Colts had a reasonable shot at beating New England and with their loss yesterday, I agree with Goombah, NE's path to the SuperBowl is clear. SD's saving graces are Billy Volek and Michael Turner, both outstanding back-ups.

I think NE should beat SD handily, and they would have beaten the Colts. I also think that either the Giants or Packers could give the Patriots a better game than the nosediving Cowboys could have. But either GB or NY would be decided underdogs.

This has to be the first time in NFL history (for those interested in useless information) where the 4 teams playing in the conference championship round come from two-named locations: New England, New York, Green Bay, Tampa Bay and San Diego. It came close in '95 when SD, SF, GB made it, but Pittsburgh was the other team.

The play Favre made falling down reminded me of Jeter's flip in the 2001 playoffs. That play, in the snow of a playoff game, was the latest in a great career. It would be ironic to see a NE - GB Super Bowl again, twelve years later.

I'm in a pickle. I root for The Giants, but I'm also a Brett Favre fan. I'll be cheering when both teams score touchdowns.

As long as I don't start arguing with myself I guess I'll be alright.

3 interceptions for Brady. WOW!

Rivers is having a much better game today. The score doesn't reflect that though.

Chargers had a chance, but now the defense is just giving the Patriots anything they want.

Now it's basically a two possession game for The Chargers. I think they just ran out of steam. I would have loved to see a new team make it to the Super bowl. It doesn't appear that will happen.

If the Chargers could have scored touchdowns instead of field goals in the red zone they'd but up by a TD...

Hats off to The Patriots for going 18-0.

But with "spygate" at the beginning of the year I'm sure some would want to put an * next to this championship.

It's so cold in Green Bay the ball didn't even want to move.

They said the heater's aren't working on the side lines. It's going to be a miserable couple of hours for these guys. And even worse for the team that has to go home.

Eli looks like he's shivering out there.

I'm conflicted because I'm a Favre fan. So I'm going back and forth. As much as I want to see The Giants advance a Brady/Favre game would have all the earmarks of being great.
