I have already finished reading the book, like many people here in this topic, I agree the story is very confusing, there are many parts I couldn´t understand and I am not talking about the English language(I speak spanish, I am from Argentina).I just wanted to finish the book that`s why I did not stop to think about some details. The Francesca and Billy story is very boring, the only thing I liked is the ending, when she kills her husband. Maybe I should read it again, but to be honest I will do it in the future not now. I wanna know what happened to Geraci, he was supposed to be in Sicily and somehow he learned that Michael was going to kill him and he got away from the ship, and he was lost somewhere in Palermo, but the last thing we know is that he finished reading the Rome history and he was alone, maybe starving or with no very much money and starting to go crazy. Nothing else. Was Geraci going to die for starvation? Was he going to be killed?Did Michael learn where Geraci was exacly? I don`t think Geraci is planning to take revange or gonna be Michael`s enemy in a possible third book. I don`t think Geraci is gonna live longer either. It would be a shame that a Michael`s enemy is alive somewhere.
Please I need you to answer that. Thank You

Well, it never actually SAYS what happened to him. If I recall wasn't he starting to write a book or something about it? While living as a hermit in a cave?

In all honesty that was the part I *REALLY* hated about the book, above and beyond the rest of it. The ONLY enemy of the Corleones to EVER survive is this unknown Geraci guy, and why? Because Winegardner wanted his own character to look like a badass and not die like everyone else. Complete garbage if you ask me. That's like someone writing a Harry Potter novel, for example, and having an original character defeat all the bad guys in the end, instead of Harry. It's deliberately breaking a plot to make your own character look better.

I agree entirely. Also, what's with us seeing more of the enemies planning their plots than their plots actually happening;it ruines the whole GF style of affect and cause IMO.

I totally agree with that, Ameer. That's most of the reason why this novel was horrible. Because it was BORING. Not only did it add the Johnny Fontaine (yawn) element again, but it didn't show much of what the Corleones were doing.

Hey, how's it going?

Possibly Weingardner kept Gereaci alive in the event that the book was a hit and he wanted to write a sequel.

He doesn't have to worry about that now, I guess.

That`s right plawrence! He does not have to worry about a sequel, so in that case, Nick Geraci was killed by a Indilecato`s soldier under Michael`s orders, that happened after the book was finished even though we did not know after we finished reading hahaha. Yes! Let`s put a real ending!

I pointed this out in another thread a while ago. I agree. In the movies we only see the Corleone's dealing with their enemies' plots agianst them. We never see the enemies themselves putting these plots together like they did in the book.

Total crap if you ask me.

The ending was also a let down, as there was no juxtaposition.

nick geraci will be in The Godfather's Revenge - and he is in a bomb shelter on rattle snake island - his godfather's island

All right, you are what you are. It’s your nature. You stay close to me. You don’t do anything. You keep your mouth shut, and your eyes open. And you do what I tell you. Understand?
