Welcome back DC. I am very happy your trip was such a success. Having been to Italy several times, I agree with you that it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Next trip head north to Tuscany, Venice, and the Italian Alps. BTW I also cannot see the pics.

DC, when you were in Taormina, did you take the cable car down to the beach? My parents were totally pissed at me because I was too afraid to ride in it. My mother wanted to leave me at the hotel and go, but my father wouldn't do it.

No blue drinks in Italy. Only when I go to the Caribbean.

For me, it was Amaretto on the rocks. And White Russians in the afternoon because they were the closest thing to having an iced coffee.




No. We took a shuttle. Unfortunately the cable cars were not running because of the brush fires on parts of the mountain side that were caused by the heat.

So, how did the cab rides work out?

Actually the cab rides were fine. The were pretty reasonable cost wise as well as the drivers being really nice. Funny thing too is that the all drivers were Italian.

Well, that's good. I'd hate to see you under the pressure of having to drive your own cab in Europe, not being used to the other side of the street and all.....

It was TIS.

There were record high temperatures that week and it was like over 100 degrees out that day.

I like the color of the water. How warm or cold was the water? It looks like you can see the bottom huh?

The water was extremely refreshing. And yes, you could see the very bottom, that's how clear it is. The coral and the various colors are just beautiful.

There was a small cave that I swam into and I cannot even begin to tell you how gorgeous the different colors of coral and barnicles make the water look inside that cave. Simply amazing.

Yes OWTGF, they were. One day it actually hit 120 Degrees!

We didn't let the heat bother us. Yes it was extremely hot, but going there in July we already realized that it was going to be hot and made up our minds not to let the heat interfere with anything that we wanted to see or do.

I think that I grew two humps from all the water that I drank on that trip.

DC, I forgot to ask you how deep was that water you were swimming in?

Wow!! 120 degrees? That's hot even for me. You'd have to live in the water if you stay outside.

I forgot, is it humid there as well????
