'SOPRANO' SHOCK

POLLY Bergen, fully recovered from recent artery-replacement surgery, has been in town dubbing an upcoming segment for HBO's "The Sopranos." Stop reading here if you don't want to know what's in store this season. A spy tells us the new episodes, which begin March 7, will reveal that Tony Soprano's father had a bastard son long ago by his mistress - a brassy blonde. Tony loves the older woman and gives her a pile of money. Bergen, who competed against every actress her age for the part, is thrilled. We'll also get to meet Tony's long-lost half-brother.

Sounds like a nice twist. That would be sweet if Tony's bro is played by Chazz Palminteri or somebody.

Interesting Just Lou! Another storyline to keep it fresh. Perhaps this women will be a mother figure for Tony, since he had such "issues" with his. But Polly Bergen???? We'll see I guess. The half brother should add a bit of possible conflict too I imagine.

I'm not sure where they are going to go with this either. Polly Bergen? Hmmm, I know she has to be around 75 years old. I think they'll probably make her a "mother figure" too. I see a lot of sessions
with Dr. Melfi.

Of course this is my anxiety for the season to start, and only speculation, :p but I wonder if one of the people released from prison could be the "bastard son" of Tony's father???? Didn't someone post that one (or more) men would be released from prison????

I'm ASSUming Tony doesn't know about his half brother, and he isn't part of the "family". It's tough to speculate what, if any, role this character is going to play in Season 5.

I heard that Tony's half brother will be played by Steve Buscemi...

You know after seeing previews to Season 5 several times, I am wondering if it might not be a little misleading?? We see Carm telling Tony, "I only want whats coming to me", and the next scene he says "you ain't getting sh**t"; could be two different scenes no??? Then ever so quickly it looks like Tony is finally getting intimate with Dr. Melfi (or is it?) It moves so quickly and just shows flashes, makes me wonder.

And don't we see Tony starting to whack someone with what looks like an axe? Food for thought,as finally, the time is getting closer and the suspense rises. :p
