If you haven't seen it yet, don't read further!

For those who have. What did you think of this episode and the entire season? I thought that Whitecaps sheer brilliance from all the cast members. The crumbling marriage of Tony and Carmela and the NY v NJ battle. Top drawer writing! For the entire season, I thought it was better than season three mainly because of the top notch writing. You could tell with the death of Nancy Marchand (Livia Soprano) in Season 3 that the writing was poor without her because we all know that the mother and son relationship was going to be key to the plot. I was extremely pleased with season four. How bout you guys?

Edie Falco gave one of the best performances I have ever seen...tv or film.

I wonder why her performance is hardly mentioned among great performances.

Gandolfini was great as well.

But, I think season 4 got good as it went along, the first couple of episodes were interesting but weak, IMHO.

But, I don't think season 4 deserves the bashing it gets by fans.

The best ep after Pine Barrens, this epic finale had everything (except not enough screen time for Sil and Paulie). I really didn;t think it would come to this. This season had the potential to be the best with the NY plot, but was severely marred by tedious storylines lacking continuity.

Very emotional, and Falco's performance was absolutely top-notch! She's the best around at the moment!

Sorry, but i have been disappointed with season 4. Very disappointed. Many episodes have seemed forgettable, uneventful. It gradually started picking up but I thought the last episode was extremely anti-climatic.

I hope season 5 is an improvement, otherwise they should stop.

I son't think Livia's death was poor writing. I mean, she died in real life, so they had to kill her off instead of using a computer to make her look very fake (look at the beginning of that episode for what I mean).

Did anybody miss Livia? I know I didn't. I hated her.

I really miss Livia's character; she was the key character to Tony's problems and it would be very interesting to know what David Chase had planned for her character prior to the untimely death.

That episode was too much for me...what a dramatic ending! What exactly did Ralphie do to desserve that treatment? That's horrible.

BB, I'm not sure, but do you know that the episode in which Ralphie is murdered is not the season four finale? Just as you mentioned ralphie, I assume you think "Whitecaps" is that episode? Well, Ralphie's death was the biggest shock ever in the show--I mean the circumstances, not the actual death.
