The trilogy need not be a quad if it is told from the view of another NY family. But if the fourth movie is about the Corleones it should keep the name only if it deserves the name.

I tend to agree with you. I am for taking a storyline from within the story of the GF and not call it a sequel. I have always been interested in Vito's rise to power in the early days, focusing on his family and how he began his life of crime, or perhaps focus on another of the families.

I think, however, all new actors would be required (sorry to say), because all of the original main stars can not play the younger parts anymore. That's where the difficulty comes in, however, because Pacino/DeNiro/Brando would be hard to replace.

If they only had the prequel part, which I would be real interested in, then they ought to come up with something bedises simply The Godfather Part IV. The Godfather:, and then an interesting title. I'd love to see how Sonny becomes a big-shot, and Don Vito's throat shooting scene, precious wars, etc.

Personally, I think that without the "PART IV" mark, the movie would distance itself from the trilogy. This could mean that it might even work but on the other hand, then it wouldn't be a part of the movie franchise anymore, to my opinion.
