Herrmann ranks (IMO) along with Max Steiner, Franz Waxman, Ennio Morricone, John Williams and a few others I'll probably think of after I post this as one of the absolute top-tier film composers.
Signor V.
"For me, there's only my wife..."
"Sure I cook with wine - sometimes I even add it to the food!"
"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?"
"It was a grass harp... And we listened."
"Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?"
Hermann's first movie score was for "Citizen Kane." One of his best efforts was a partial soprano aria for "Salammbo," an opera to be sung by Kane's wife. It's an incredible piece of music:
You guy's r over the top...I did a little research about what u r talking about..& still cant make heads or tails...fuck---g Einstiens..lol..old school old movie score shit...God luv u's..I'll pass on this one & keep watching Sidney Poitier in "Guess Who's coming 2 dinner?"....can watch it 3 times a yr. & still get love out of it...
