ok..vinny was already away when they were more prominent and the younger group (sarros , roman and caesar, the peps) all came of age...so no they werent around vinny..there was an army of blood relatives, almost all with balls. for the most part did their own thing but on good terms with salemes and rosetti etc..the joe black thing was personal..bobby sr was friendly with ralphy chong, wouldnvisit him while he was away.....from what i understand , they were losing a proprerty they had, joe took someone to the bank to buy it auction. he waswarned to back off..he didnt..and subsequently was split in 2 in a social club in front of people...

No one has a concrete answer as to how Luisi became made in philly. Who did he know and how did he know them?

This a great question, I wish they expanded on this during the show but Luisi probably didn't want to get too specific with names. We could probably guess, its not like Philly has hundreds of guys.... He did mention Ralph Natale specifically, seems like he could have known him frim the can or somebody else, made an introduction

Chin Gigante gives a pretty detailed answer on this in the other thread on this topic. Per Gangster Report, in addition to paying $100k to Merlino to get in, the Boston crew is also suspected of carrying out the hit on Gino Marconi.

This is a true story. During those times it was a very legit way to get in. So long as you could earn on the streets and where good at what you did, handled business correctly and where low key you could buy your way in. Anyhow it did become a problem a few years later as they closed the books because of this for a good 10 years+
