Are you refering to the Richardsons ? I 'm not sure you could say they were bigger than the Krays.

The Krays ran the West End so they were the most likely to help the mob with thei casino business.

The Genovese family had connections to Billy Hill. Lansky went through the Kray brothers cause they actually had the right people in the right positions at the time with the connections the mob needed, it was Hill that gave one of Lanskys men the contact point for the twins.

The Kray firm had the right connections, a lot gets said now but the firm had strong links to various OC groups around the world.

The British were always big in boxing that's how they got connected to the americans.

Bruno (or some of the guys in his family) saw an opportunity to earn money would be my guess.

Apparently, in the late 60's, the Bruno family and the Patriarca family were partners in a London Casino called "The Victoria Sporting Club". I guess that's one of the operations that was protected by the Krays.

I did a search for the photo you mentioned and came up empty. If you have a minute can you please post it to this thread or provide a link?
