I think the outfit is one of the most interesting families that's out there because thier positions are not used traditionally. While I was reading up on alponse 'al the pizza man" tornabene", officials said little man was the undergoes for wings and tooked over as the official boss all the way back in 1992. With all of that being said, when did "no nose" started being the official boss for the outfit if he ever was??? Or was the outfit basically split into two families with no nose making who he wanted and Jimmy and sarno making who they wanted

"McGurn likes you, so I make you. So you are now one of us, if you fuck up, we take it out on McGurn. He is your sponsor. Fuck up, it's his ass. You work in his crew, he is your capo."

after the death of accardo in 1992 sam carlisi took over as official boss of the outfit w/ difronzo serving as ub and james marcello as street boss and leader of what was then the melrose park crew (now defunct/absorbed into cicero crew).debate about who served as consigliere opens debate up to if outfit really has this position. after both carlisi and marcello r arrested in 1993 in same indictment the most influential members on street r in no order difronzo(serving as acting boss 1993-1994 had to face his own indictment which he beat in 1994/1995 most likely making him boss of outfit in name if not officially more likely made official at march 1996 sentencing of carlisi and marcello.) so difronzo BOSS 1996-2018.
.joeseph lombardo grand avenue crew/senior advisor after 1992 release
.joseph andriacchi ub/elmwood park crew leader north side boss.
.john monteleone street boss/26th st.crew south side boss.
the outfit has always had 2 geographic areas north and south separated by the eisenhower expressway.north=elmwood park, grand avenue,south=cicero,26th st.for a time there were 2 geographic street bosses.joe andriacchi as ub and the north side boss, john monteleone as street boss and south side boss.
as far as being split the outfit really operates better than most families in that they operate in a more cell like structure than most oc families anywhere else in the u.s.
it is not often u see an indictment naming members from the 4 different crews.
the 4 crews operate with autonomy for the most part from the BOSS because the leadership and discipline of these crews is far above what u see in other families.
even in the case of the panozzo crew being busted in 2016 in did not take down any of the top leaders/senior members of the grand avenue crew.
james marcello is alleged to have become street boss of the outfit around 2003 while still imprisoned using anthony zizzo on the street until his release.lasted only from time of release 2003 until 2005 family secrets indictment.

Marcello was loaded with cash. When he was trying to get released on bond after the family secrets indictment he offered to put up around 8 houses as bond that valued over 12 million. I know that doesn't sound particularly staggering for a (front) mob boss but to have that ability in such a short time frame always made me wonder how much money that mob brought in during the 80's, 90's and into '05. Any knowledge if his brother Michael is still involved?

michaels name still appears in recent charts as being involved with the cicero crew.
and unlike other mafia families on east coast the outfit members have historically done a better job of investing in real estate and legitimate companies.
