Just got back from the gym. Did Legs, back, bicep, stairs, and bike. I was in better shape than I thought. No soreness; maybe that will come tomorrow. Not many people there. However, I went before noon which I never do. I was the only one wearing a mask.

Here's another report (May 14, 2020) of the same study. I didn't think this was NEW news, as I heard this at least a month ago...

DALLAS - Dallas County is reporting 14 new fatalities from the coronavirus.

The county’s health director gave commissioners an update on the COVID-19 death toll Tuesday morning. It’s the largest number of COVID-19 deaths reported in Dallas County in a single day.

Our library is reopening on Tuesday. They had been offering "curbside service" to pick up reserved books. Overall cases and deaths in AZ still rising.

We've had our first intoxication manslaughter charge since the bars opened back up Friday.

A 29-year-old man died Friday night after striking a truck driven by a suspected drunken driver who failed to yield, Dallas police say.

At about 8:20 p.m., the motorcyclist hit the left side of a Ford F-150 that did not yield the right of way from a stop at Ranchero Lane and Duncanville Road.

Alejandro Ortiz was ejected from the motorcycle and taken to a local hospital, where he died, police said.

The driver of the Ford, 60-year-old Bryan Howard, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested, police said.

Howard was being held in the Dallas County jail and faces an intoxication manslaughter charge. His bail has not been set.

Dont blame it on bars reopening, there are pos who get drunk at home then decide to drive around. I do concede that bars and clubs on Friday and Saturday night account for more drunk drivers.

Our gym is beginning to fill up a little. But so far, no old people except me.

The pool my wife and I were using for our main cardio is in a high-end senior luxo development. It's been closed since mid-March, and the website says, "...until further notice." Granted, most of the people there are pretty old, and thus potentially more vulnerable. But, I think the management is prolonging the shutdown because the pool (and the attached small gym) are a big loss leader for them--they have at least six full time employees, and even with nonresidents like us paying dues, they're losing money.

In my small corner of the world, we have over 13,000 confirmed cases and closing in on 700 dead. We know several people who have been sick and several that have died. In one case, a man my daughter worked with died from the virus, along with his wife and daughter, all within a few weeks of each other. We have just entered Phase 1.

My daughter and her husband are in healthcare. They both work with people who have tested positive, but so far, thank God, they have been spared. Our sheer number of cases and high infection rate are terrifying. I wouldn't dream of leaving my home without a mask and gloves, and then it's only to the grocery store. I try to buy in bulk and limit those visits to twice a month. We tried ordering through Instacart, but we couldn't even get on the schedule.

Do not underestimate this bug. It is nasty beyond belief.

Per the Governor's instructions, the county is pretty much open. One college is opening next week, though phased in, and the universities will open in the fall. Still don't know about public schools.

Hello there. It's been a long time. I'm not sure how things really were in my corner of the world. No reliable data was available. I was totally freaked out and checked my temperature every day during March. I think a lot of misinformation were put out by WHO so that people get really scared. Those who got it were in close contact with people having it, so all that do not touch surfaces and wear gloves and disinfect everything was bogus, or lots of us would've got it by now. Everything except schools are now open. On another note, it amazes me how those very people that thought it was not safe to open up for business felt safe to demonstrate. If the US is open for riots, it might as well be open for business. wink

It's the single drug used here for this disease as well. The only reason it was not used there was because Trump said so. They play with people's lives just so that go against him. Pathetic.

EXACTLY! Been doing it for 4 years and they will continue, at least until November and the results come out. But yes, evil have no limits to some of these sickos.

The only thing that changed in my life, was going to bars and restaurants. Rarely ate out to begin with. Now I'm good on the bar scene. Covid, despite all of the restrictions, only modified how the marina puts your boat in. Been fishing out in the gulf weekly since st. Paddy's day. I've seen enough people die suffering deaths in the hospital by themselves. My mindset is, if it hasn't killed me yet, Fuck it.

Cases rising sharply here in AZ since the Gov. let most restrictions expire a few weeks ago. BUT: State health officials predicted in March that cases would crest here in mid- to late-June, and there's much more extensive testing now than before.
