Peter Gotti is at death’s door, according to his lawyer.

The claim came as attorneys for the former Gambino boss continue their efforts to get the 80-year-old client sprung from prison early on compassionate release.

“We are truly afraid he is dying now, he feels he is,” James Craven wrote in court papers Tuesday. “As his lawyer, I am afraid this will all become moot soon if nothing is done.”

Gotti, who suffers from an enlarged prostate, gastric reflux and early-onset dementia, is 17 years into his 25-year sentence for racketeering.

Craven — who previously said even Stevie Wonder could see that Gotti has repented for his crimes — notes in his Tuesday court papers that death rates at Gotti’s North Carolina prison are “at an all time high.”

“We pray Peter Gotti won’t be next on that list, but these cases are very sad and very real. Peter Gotti has a loving home to go too, with his daughter in Howard Beach, New York. He has served over 80% of his sentence and is dying. May he get there in time,” the motion reads.

A judge has yet to rule on the request.

Maybe Peter's grievances would be taken more seriously if other mobsters weren't continuously caught crying wolf, like the guy who they were stupid enough to release on bail because jail food was aggravating his diabetes and thyroid problems, only for him to take the piss by getting a hotdog from a food-cart as soon as he was let out.

Even on paper, Peter's health problems look comically exaggerated.

Normally I would say you do the crime you do the time...But he is 80 years old and was never known for violence...Even the snitches say he never killed anybody...Would he be a danger to society if he were let out ?? No...17 years seems to be enough punishment !!

Well, disregarding everything else, he did orchestrate an attempt to kill Sammy Gravano when he was in Arizona.

think he got the 25 for being a official boss. if he was say acting maybe only 15. he was giving a plea deal of 13yrs to cover everything. he fucked up he would have been freen like 8 yrs ago

Peter Gotti lost his effort Wednesday to be released early from prison because the frail gangster is still considered dangerous.

Thanks for the news Hollander. I know other people have done worse and gotten out and he's just a sick old man now, but he did conspire to kill someone. He deserves to be behind bars.

Conspired to kill sammy a serial killer. and sent a few ppl to scope him out which didn’t go anywhere.

My view is let him die outside of jail. He’s not known for any murders. Just was looking to avenge his brothers honour by considering whacking a serial killer. Nothing happened. He serves like 18 years that’ll do..
